[Album] AWKWORD - "World View"

NYC emcee Awkword released a very interesting project late this Sunday; unfortunately it hit the net after I had gone to bed due to the dime difference over here, and since I haven't been on The Lost Tapes since then really I haven't been able at all to make any new updates. But better late than never, here's Awkword's anticipated concept album "World View" which featues Awkword and several A-list underground spitters going in over production collected from all over the world. Really interesting stuff, and especially when some of the producers include ATG, Numsonics, Domingo, DJ Fafu, The White Shadows, Tranzformers and many more, while guests include, but not limited to, Chaundon, Sean Price, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Punchline, Beretta 9, Jasiri X, Chino XL, Sha Stimuli, REKS, C-Rayz Walz, Dug Infinite, Mista Lawgne (!), ILLBILL, Slug, and Joell Ortiz. Despite featuring several producers "World View" clearly has a cohessive soun, and comes off as an homage to the Golden Age of true hip-hop. Rome Clientel - "L.E.G.A.C.Y."

Rome Clientel's "The Empire" series has without a doubt been among the absolute most well crafted and lyrically interesting drops from the new generation of artists that has blown up this decade. "L.E.G.A.C.Y." sees the emcee teaming back up with ATG, which creates a hardknock joint as expected, and is the second single (following The Militia produced "Bang, Bang") as well as the opening of the forthcoming "The Empire 3: The Coronation". Other producers and guests featured on the EP includes Skyzoo, Quincey Tones, and Realm Reality. Be sure that you'll be able to grab this from here as soon as it drops!

[EP/Mini LP] AG DA CORONER - "Crushed Grapes"

Brooklyn to Queens representative AG Da Coroner clearly has no intentions of letting the dope music that he's been supplying us with for the last two years. His latest addition to an already fat catalouge is the free project "Crushed Grapes", entirely produced by ATG who I have praised several times here on The Lost Tapes. The latter is progressively evolving his own hard soul based sound, filled with grinding organs, bluesy basslines and boom bap-type drums which is a perfect match for AG's rough edged voice and intense street themed lyrics. Add to that guest verses from Meyhem Lauren, M.Reck and a posse cut with Nutso, Lord Nez (in addition to appearing on two other cuts), Termanology, Realm Reality, and Spit Gemz and this is a straight up and down crazy release that will work well in holding us over until Da Coroner's official album drops.

AG Da Coroner - "Not Gonna Cry"

AG Da Coroner is definitely not an emcee to sleep on; the young Brooklyn spitter is best known for his heavy involvement in brilliant projects by fellow NY beasts like Meyhem Lauren, J-Love and Action Bronson. With each verse I've heard from this guy I have become more and more impressed by his material, so the word that just came in that he's working on his first official solo project came as a real pleasant surprise. The forthcoming EP is called "Crushed Grapes" and should undoubtedly be worth your money! Just peep the first official single, handled by ATG,(another young hip-hop artist that has blown me away on more than just a few occasions by now), with additional production touches added by The Letter "C", which is called "Not Gonna Cry", and there's a lot to love about this joint so I for one can't fucking wait for this EP. The project is slated to be release on the often trustworthy Man Bites Dog Records.

[Video] BRAVO - "Pimps & Hoes"

"Pimps & Hoes" is my personal introduction to the music of Bravo Diablo, and I'm absolutely feeling this cat. Produced by ATG, who supplied a lot of similiar heat for Rome Clientel, the addictive sax loop and hard ass drum kicks sets the stage for Bravo's politically charged rhymes. This is actually a bonus track for an upcoming project by Bravo and ATG called "Otis Reed" which should be something to keep your eyes and ears open for. You can grab the Mp3 of the single below.

Chaundon Ft. Rome Clientel - "Prison"

The good news that Rome Clientel has signed with Chaundon's label Golden Era Music is celebrated with releasing the ATG-produced "Prison" as an official single. The tight song previously appeared as a bonus cut on Chaundon's 2012 album "The Jammington" and should be an indicator of what to expect from these two lyrical gentlemen in 2013.

Rome Clientel - "Betta Luv 'Em"

Another clean looking video from Rome Clientel and his superb "Empire II: The Battlegrounds" mini album that we heard earlier this year. "Betta Luv 'Em" is produced by ATG, who really brought the big guns on this EP, I wouldn't mind hearing him and Rome doing an entire project together in the future. The video is directed by Brandon Cooklin.

Rome Clientel - "Troubled Child"

The new single "Troubled Child" from Rome Clientel is laced by NYC producer ATG. This beautiful collaboration is the first taste of a four track EP set to be released within the next month. Definitely sounds promising so far, and I always liked the original EP format, something you can listen to in 15-20 minutes. If you're still not up on Rome, you should of course also make yourself aquainted through his heavy hitting "The Lost Catacombs", released earlier this year.
