[Album] BIGREC x DIAMOND D - "DoomsDay"

an extreme D.I.T.C. fan I have little doubt in saying that for me the two most anticipated albums of 2014 for me has been Buckwild/Meyhem's "Silk Pyramids" and Diamond D's collaboration with Southern emcee BIGREC, "DoomsDay". As both LP:s been out for a few days by now, I'm super excited to be able to say that they both live up to my very high expectations, no question. For a whole lot of years Diamond D's had a given spot in my list of top 5 producers, and though he had a period where much of his work seemed to come from a place of beatmaking autopilot (e.g. much of "Grown Man Talk", "The Diamond Mine"), the last few years have seen him returning with a venegance and his collaboration with BIGREC might be the finest testament of this in quite some time. Most likely it is the meeting with the young, hungry and super talented BIGREC that's sparked the legendary Kirkland's inspiration. The chemistry here is evident as they both bring the best out of each other and seamlessly blends flavors of their respective hip-hop backgrounds, creating something unique and original that's neither South, East, old school or new school but pure ass HIP HOP.

As of now, "DoomsDay" has only been made available as a digital release as of yet, but word from BIGREC is that at least a limited run of CD:s are planned. I will definitely cop one if and when a physical release drops, until then you can check out the entire 13 track album as a free stream via RHHIB (spotted @ the homie Brandon's CrateOfJr.). Support real music and cop via iTunes. TURN IT THE FUCK UP!!!

[Out Now] BIGREC x DIAMOND D - "DOOMSDAY"

I've been waiting patiently to finally hear the new album from highly skilled Southern emcee BIGREC, entirely produced by Diamond D. The album is entitled "Doomsday" and features thirteen bangers ranging from straight hardcore MC/DJ flexing on the previously heard "Bullseye", to West Coast flavored joints like "If U Believe", the introspective and heart-wrenching "Cryin'", stories of struggles in the rap game and life in general on the yet triumphant sounding "Nowhere 2 Run", the old school flirtation on "The Dumb Out" (which might just be my favorite cut at this point) and much more. Definitely not one to sleep on!

This is basically a classic hip-hop album like they used to be done - one ill producer, one ill producers, and very low on guests (R.A. The Rugged Man does pop up, and so does TH5PENTAGON, Blake Carrington and Jawz Of Life but that's it). DON'T SLEEP and support the real (my only dissapointment is that it doesn't seem to be dropping on either vinyl or CD)! Also check out the new video for "Unstoppable" up top.

You can order the complete album now @ most digital retailers such as such as iTunes NOW!.

[Video] BIGREC - "Bullseye"

One of 2014's strongest tracks finally get the visual treatment. "Bullseye" is the first single from ATL emcee BIGREC's and super producer Diamond D's highly anticipated full-lengther "DoomsDay" which finally hit retailers April 15. It seems both artists are going in heavily for 2014, as this album will be followed up by Diamond's "The Diam Piece" and BIGREC's project with his crew TH5PENTAGON. Watch out!

[Tracklist/Artwork] BIGREC x DIAMOND D - "DoomsDay"

The official artwork cover and tracklist for BIGREC's Diamond D upcoming collaboration "Doomsday" was originally posted yesterday when I put up the brilliant first single "Bullseye". I realized this information deserves it's own post, simply for making it easier for peeps using search engines when looking for this or similiar info. Counting the snippets and the new single, I think I've heard parts of at least four tracks from the project ("Be Strong", "Abomination", "Bullseye" & "DoomsDay" - check out this prelude/trailer if you haven't already) and I have high hopes of this turning out of being one of 2014's finest albums. 'REC got that real hardcore hip-hop sound with a ruff powerful voice - if you're into real rugged stuff like M.O.P., Bumpy Knuckles and Bo$$ Money Gangstas this should be right up your alley. Also Diamond D is known for creating incredible tracks when working with these type of hardcore spitters ("Bumpy Bring it Home"; "What The Fuck You Want"; "Soul On Ice Remix"; etc.), so it's hard to imagine this album faiing. I'll definitely purchase and listen though. The album is relatively light on guest features, but several Diamond D associates shows up here again - soul singer Blake Moss, emcee Jawz Of Life as well as DJ G Supreme who tears it up on "Bullseye". No release date have been confirmed yet but since everything about it seems ready to go it definitely looks like we will have it relatively soon.

BIGREC x DIAMOND D - "Bullseye"

Now THIS is something I've been fiending to hear for quite some time. As I'm sure most readers are aware, the ruff sounding, hardcore spitting emcee BIGREC spent part of last year working with legendary producer Diamond D on material for a full-length album. While we've heard a few snippets and teasers in the past, the time has come for the first single from the project to be unleashed and it's every bit as powerful as I had hoped. I moved the official artwork and tracklist to a separate post so it's easier to find for anyone using a search engine to find that. You still need to pump up the volume on this banger though... A LITTLE LOUDER!
