The homie Ray West keeps bringing incredible hip-hop with his own original, unmistakable twist to the table, as every release on his label Red Apples 45 is pretty much just getting better and better with each drop. My personal favorite so far is the mini album he did with OC, "Ray's Café", followed by the John Robinson EP "Sample & Percussion" (click to stream both projects, respectively). For his new single and video, "Stay Still", West enlists Blu and Dave Dar for a nice summer vibe joint that feels just right! This banging joint is lifted from one of the many insane 7" extended plays that Red Apples 45 have dropped recently - you can grab "Berri Lipstick" EP @ iTunes now. Video premiered by OkayPlayer and was directed by Dave Dar and A.M. Fine.

[EP] AUDIBLE DOCTOR - "Can't Keep The People Waiting"
If you ask me I'd be quick to say that The Audible Doctor is one of the absolutely most interesting young producers out right now. He got a sound of his own, without ever letting the hip-hop purists down, which is a feat in itself. And on top of that he's slowly but surely building up a pretty damn impressive catalouge, both as a solo artist and through albums with legends like Onyx's Fredro Starr. With each release he has really grown on the microphone as well and it has been a blessing following his career.
His latest release is called "Can't Keep The People Waiting" and was first released a couple of months ago as a diigital download only. Produced entirely by Audible Doctor, the records which switches betweem agressive synths, knockout drum programming, longing vocal samples and smoother songs which together gives the project a very nice balance, is now finally being rleeased on vinyl. You can purchase the lmited vinyl right now @ Fat Beats, but once they are out they are gone. so HURRY UP AND BUY! Joining the good ol' Doctor on the mifrophone is Bumpy Knuckles, Astro, Guilty Simpson, Hasaan Mackey, Consequence, and John Tired. The EP also weaves together songs through warm soulful instrumental interludes, something I always had a big thing for this type of projects. Oh and on a related note, Aud Doc just revealed that he's soon finished with "The Spring Tape" and if you've been following this blog you know I went fucking bonkers over those seasoned themed EP:s. Stay tuned for more info as it unfolds!

AUDIBLE DOCTOR / GUILTY SIMPSON - "Leave Me Alone" [Remix]
You might know that Audible Doctor is one of my current favorite producers, and his seasoned theme EP:s still stand as one off the finest pieces of music released in the last couple of years. A month back The Good Ol¨Doc dropped another EP for the fans, consisting of eight soulful but hardhitting joints packing that unmistakable Audibe sound. Called "Can't Keep The People Waiting" the mni album is made up of eight strongs, featuring Audible getting busy on both mic and boards with heavyweights Bumpy Knuckles, John Robinson, Consequence, Hasaan Mackey, Astro and Guilty Simpson provide a breath of fresh air with their guest verses. Since I totally forgot to post this when it first hit, I posted the free stream below for y'all (don't sleep), and you can also purchase the digital EP or a limited CD pressing (w. also includes instrumentals) @ The Official Audible Store. But the more acute reason for posting this now is that Oddisee just unleashed a popping new remix of "Leave Me Alone", the Guilty Simpson blessed cut and it¨s just as dope as the original!

[Album] SILENT SOMEONE - "I Have Company"
I'm a big fan of Silent Someone's 2012 album "Change" and its powerful grooves of laid back jazz and hard rhythms. Now the Bronx producer is back with his new project, "I Have Company", featuring a host of talented emcees from the States going in over Silent's raw hip-hop, complete with funk and jazz influences. Artists getting busy over these tracks include Akbar, Shaz Illyork, El Da Sensei, King Magnetic, John Robinson, Tame One, Emskee, Sadat X, and many more. Dave Dar appears on the single "El Greco" which you can see the new music video for up top. Released on Peasant Podium Music back in March of this year, you can stream the entire album for free or purchase the digital copy @ their Bandcamp page (also embeded below). Seems to be a digital release only for now, but well worth checking out.

[EP] AUDIBLE DOCTOR - "Can't Keep The People Waiting"
You know we're huge fans of The Audible Doctor here at The Lost Tapes so I'm glad to annoucne that the BBS' finest is back with a brand new EP called "Kan't Ceep The People Waiting". If you digt the nostalgic soultastic boom bap of The Good Doctor's previous efforts, I can promise you won't be dssapointed in the eight songs presented here. Especiallly as it features excellent performances by Bumpy Knuckles, Hasaan Mackey, Consequence, Astro, John Robinson, Guilty Simpson, and lott of good verses from our main emcee. Be sure not to sleep on this, because this one bangs HARD without losing the smooth soul elements.
The digital release can be purchased for 7 USD via Audible's Bandcamp and you also get the option to test the project out beforehand by previewing the extended play in full. All songs produced by Audible Doctor, with hooks and background vocals on many songs by Davenport Grimes. Feelin' good about this one, for sure - Audible Doctor one of the most underrated producers around, that's my word!

[Video] JOHN ROBINSON & PVD - "All Over The World"
Super talented emcee John Robinson has really made a name for himself by making full-length album collaborations with incredibly ill producer. He made the crazy banging "Who is This Man?" together with DOOM, which happened to be my introduction to the man, and since then he has released an album with one of the most underrated cats in the game - UK producer Lewis Parker, on "International Summers". His latest endeavour is just as exciting as he has crafted an impressive jazz-fusion like hip-hop album with Elementality's PVD who immediatly draws you in. Appropriatly titled "Modern Vintage" the LP sees Robinson effortlessly move through istrumentation arrangements of accoustic basses, scratches, live drums, guitars, keyboards and horns. This should be getting a lot of play, and it's now available to order on CD or 2xLP @ UGHH or for download via iTunes if that's what you prefer. Put on some headphones, lay back comfortably and let the latest single "All Over The World" consume.

JOHN ROBINSON & PVD Ft. Sadat X & ID 4 Windz
I first became aware of John Robinson through his album produced by MF DOOM which straight up blew my socks off, a phenomenon that was furthered through his collaboration with producers Lewis Parker and Kyo Itachi in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Now the highly talented wordsmith is back with another project, this time produced by jazz/fusion/hip-hop composer/drummer/producer PVD whose work with 8tW1 on "Lux DeVille" and recent solo album "Technicolor in Hi-Fi" both were very interesting records. The new album is titled "Modern Vintage" and is set for a June 17 release via Brick Records. The first single "Off The Wall" and now "Two Man Mob" featuring Sadat X and ID 4 Windz is definitely promising good thing so stay tuned...

L'ORANGE - "The Lost Nova" (Ft. Mr. Lif & John Robinson)
Mello Music Group keeps adding to their extensive and very often really impressive roster. The latest signee to the label is very talented producer L'Orange whose smoky '70s sound is a perrfect blend with smooth jazz and banging hip-hop, and the result is excellent. He recently released a full-length collaboration with fellow MMG artist Stik Figa, and has produced for Fluent Form, as well as his solo album "The Mad Writer". Now he's preparing the first in a three album deal he's signed with MMG, so be prepared for a lot of hot music and with MMG's extensive roster except to see a whol elot of profile guests on here. While "The Lost Nova" with Mr. Lif and John Robinson is not from the project but rather a track from the recent MMG compilation posted here a week or so back, it should give you a good idea of what to expect from this forthcoming project. Mr. Lif and John Robinson sounds phenomenal over this incredible beat.

John Robinson & PVD - "Off The Wall"
Fresh on the heels of PVD's highly recommended new album "Technicolor Hi-Fi", the jazz and hip-hop producer/drummer is now gearing up for a full-length collaboration with the always sharp tongued emcee John Robinson. "Modern Vintage" will be released via Brick Records sometime early next year, so stay tuned for more info as it unfolds. The lead single off the LP is called "Off The Wall" and sounds very, very promising.

[EP Sampler] SILENT SOMEONE - "I Have Company"
Underground phenomenon Silent Someone really impressed me with his 2012 7" single release on GoodFellons, "Change" / "Retrogression" where he teamed up with Craig G and Oxygen, respectively. Now he's very soon to be back with his debut album, and judging by the bunch of singles that's been released so far this is one to look out for. Titled "I Have Company", the LP sees the skilled producer team up with underground legends and young talents such as El Da Sensei, Tame One, John Robinson, Akbar, Shaz IllYork, Dave Dar, King Magnetic, and many more. The album will be out in stores at the end of this month on Peasant Podium Music, but till then you can check out four songs from the project via Soundcloud - three of them you find embeded below, and the remix to "Lab 82" you find here!

Lewis Parker Ft. John Robinson & TRAC - "Tic Tac Toe"
Lewis Parker digs up some groove infected wax to create "Tic Tac Toe", a superb platform for a John Robinson reunion whom he made the impeccable "International Summers" LP just a couple of years ago; also featured on this hypnotizing cut are an emcee by the name of TRAC. A single from Parker's upcoming "The Glass Ceiling", this is dusty digging at its finest, and following the Sadat X/Shabaam Sahdeeq blessed single "Walking On A Razor", I have a strong feeling this album will be one of the year's best.

[Album] YAMIN SEMALI - "YAMIN"
Yamin Semali (a.k.a. AmDex) got his start with the Atlanta, GA hip-hop duo Clan Destined back in the early 2000's, together with Dustin Teague. He's opening up for J-Live at the 5:th HOTvsDOPE event which takes place at the club Sound Table in ATL. Just like J, Yamin slings his music as both an emcee, a producer and a DJ, so you know this triple threat live and breathe hip-hop. This is evident on his brand new solo debut, "Yamin" which features 15 nice cuts ranging from hardedged boom bap to mellow chill-out joints. It's an LP well worth checking out, you can stream the entire thing via Yamin's Bandcamp where you can also purchase the download for $10 or order the physical CD for $12. That's a good deal for hot music like this; most of the music is self produced but guest producers and cameos include Illastrate, Ralo, Dustin Teague (DT), John Robinson, Boog Brown and more. As Jack Nicholson manically yells in "The Shining".... "GO CHECK IT OUT....!!!!!!!"
