[Album] MADKEM - "Kola La Vie"

A couple of days back Lost Tapes favorite MadKem of the Elementality fame drop his second album of this year; "Kola La Vie". Featuring more of the sound heard on the brilliant "La Vie en Bleu", this is the perfect companion album to that one. MadKem is on fire throughout, going through a wide range of lyrical topics over inspired production by usual suspects such as Analogic, Madwreck, DroP Beats and a couple of others. EMP definitely got a deep understanding of how the game works now a days - witth free, unauthorized downloads hitting the net as soon as an album drops, the people who buy an album will do so regardless if it's available for free on the net as we want to support the artist and get the official copy. Therefore it's in my opinion a wise move of the label to release their own official free download of the album for all the fans! You can download the entire album for free below, and as the press release states - "We strongly recommend you playing it with "La Vie en Bleu". It's a yin & yang thing".True that!! TURN IT UP!

Madwreck - "Time Lapse"

Madwreck is a producer you need to have on your watchlist as this brother is coming on strong with the heat. I first became aquainted with his work through the stuff he did for fellow Elementality artist MadKem, and on top of that he's one half of the experimental but super sick beat duo Dirty Art Club. Nw the talented producer is gearing up for his first instrumental release, titled "Elementality Instrumentals". With the goal to show the World his broad influences and original hip-hop roots, 'Wreck is offering up a mix of brand new tracks and reworked classics from his days as an in-house producer for Elementality. The first single is a hypnotic, chillingly creeping piece called "Time Lapse". The album is out November 19!

MadKem - "The Send Off" [MadWreck Remix]

Yesterday saw the official release of MadKem's "La Vie en bleu", an album that I was highly impressed by and strongly recommend. In support of the new release, MadKem and the Elementality team lets loose of a bonus track not found on the LP,  in the form of Madwreck's remix of "The Send Off". In my opinion much of 'Kem's best work comes from his collaborations with aforementioned producer, and this is another great example of their chemistry together. [ALBUM] MadKem - "Charles Workman"

Last year Soulspazm released the great "back-to-basics" debut album "Charles Workman" by talented wordsmith MadKem. In celebration of the LP:s one year anniversary, MadKem, Soulspazm and the crew have decided to let loose of the entire 11 track set as a free download for a limited amount of time via Bandcamp. Included are also a full spread digital booklet, two unreleased instrumentals ("Malcolm Browne" plus "How We Do") and the video for "The Moon", so it can't be anything but a done deal. I wasn't previously aquainted with the Queens rhymer, but this set really hit home with me as it's filled with great stuff that guarantees many future revisits. Not only do MadKem pack a distinct voice and a solid flow, he's coming with some really well written and clever verses. Not to mention that "Charles Workman" is built around a variety of interesting topics spread over the 11 songs. With production from DJ K.O., Madwreck, Analogic, Beatnick Dee, and more, this one comes highly recommended. Make sure to grab it while you can!
