[Album] THE GODFATHERS - "Once Upon A Crime"

What can I say? The long-awaited full-length collaboration between Necro and Kool G Rap as The Godfathers is finally here! While the album, titled "Once Upon A Crime" isn't officially out until tomorrow, the album is up for free streaming via Soundcloud already now. As the singles have certainly been dope and both artists are legends in their own rights this will definitely be one hell of an interesting first listen (already the first joint goes HARD). KOOL G RAP x NECRO - "THE CITY"

Some people had lost faith in that G Rap and Necro's much anticipated Godfathers project would not at all see the light of the day. But over the last month, we have until today gotten four singles that all bang HARD, perfectly setting up the agressive lyrical street styles of G Rap and Necro over impeccable Necro beats. The fourth and latest single from "Once Upon A Crime" is called "The City" and is sure to have your heart racing and your neck snapping!

KOOL G RAP & NECRO - "Trigga 4 Hire"

As we're coming closer to the highly anticipated collaboration between Kool G Rap and Necro, the duo releases the third official single from "Once Upon A Crime" due out next month. This one's called "Trigga 4 Hire", and is produced by Necro and follows the same hardcore ish style of the two previous joints - so be sure to gear up for a real HARDcore album.

KOOL G RAP & NECRO - "Omerta"

Kool G Rap and Necro's Godfather project "Once Upon A Crime" took some time to finally materialize, but with the collaborations we've heard from these two it seems that it will definitely be worth the wait. Following "Heart Attack", the second single is called "Omerta" and sees the duo embracing the code of the streets over an ill usage of one of the major Godfathers theme. At one point I was actually starting to doubt if The Godfather's project would actually ever come to fruition, with only that one posse cut "Men @ Work 2012" to show for it in more than a year of promises of the album. This is not a jab at the two emcees per se, but we all know that a lot of remarkable hip-hop albums gets announced and never come to fruition. However, now it's 100% official - The Godfathers album is called "Once Upon A Crime" and will be released through SRC in conjunction with Psycho+Logical on November 19. The first single just landed too, along with the artwork, and it's a hardboiled joint called "Heart Attack". This goes great with my "Giancana Story" revisit that's been getting a lot of good attention from you guys. Press play above and turn that volume UP!

DMC x Necro Ft. Emilush & Caustic - "Murda Y'All"

From Sweden to NYC, Hip Hop is alive and kicking as evident on this wicked collaboration between DMC and Necro with Emilush & Caustic on the hook. The Swedish duo reached out to DMC and Necro with a request to lay down verses over this Nicseb beat and the resulting record is the hard hitting "Murda Y'all". As if the joint in itself wasn't enough we finally get an official release date and title for the long awaited Godfathers album (Necro's joint project with Kool G Rap, who also makes several appearances in the video) - "Once Upon A Crime", November 19!

Necro & Kool G Rap - "The System"

The first official Godfather's (Necro x Kool G Rap) joint is here; "The System" will appear on the upcoming "Murder, Murder, Kill, Kill" double EP which you can pre-order here. G Rap goes in on this sinister banger! Shouts to Angry! for the word on this one.

Kool G Rap & Necro - "Men @ Work 2020"

God damn, the first track from Kool G Rap and Necro's collaborative "The Godfathers" is here and is sicker than you could imagine. "Men At Work" is my favorite cut of G Rap & Polo's 1989 debut "Road to the Riches" and here goes the 2012 version of that track featuring a host of dope rappers siding up with Necro and the Kool Genius of Rap. Always stellar Domingo hooks up the original sample for G Rap and then goes on to flip a load of classic old school breaks giving this a feel of a true golden era classic. Kool G Rap completely murders it as expected and with the verses from Necro Ras Kass, Street Smartz's F.T., Nutso, Action Bronson and Rugged Intellect it is a blood filled lyrical slaughterhouse. Even Marley Marl pops up!! Man, I'm pumped for "The Godfathers"!
