The Seatlte-based experimental "hip hop" duo Shabazz Palaces is by far one of the most interesting music groups of this decade. Their second Sub Pop album "Lese Majesty" has been going warm over here and is by far one of the best albums of 2014, so it's great to see a new music video for another song from the LP. This time the visuals to emcee Ishmael Buttler and multi-instrumentalist Tendai "Baba" Maraire's joint happen to be the slamming cut "Forerunner Foray". Now zone out to this!

SHABAZZ PALACES - "Palace Slide"
Shabazz Palaces' "Lese Majesty" is not only one of the best albums of the year, but also one of the most eccentric, experimental and mystical sounding hip-hop albums I've yet to hear... without ever coming off as forced. All around just a beautiful thing, so you can imagine I was happy to come across a song from the sessions that I hadn't heard before. "Palace Slide" was pressed up on a limited 7" single only released as a bonus disc to those who pre-ordered "Lese Majesty" via Sub Pop. Check out the vocal and instrumental versions below, but be sure to support the cause by purchasing the LP as well.

[Video] SHABAZZ PALACES - "#CAKE"
Emcee Ishamel Butterfly (remember Digable Planets) and multi-instramentalist Tendai "Barba" Marie has been rocking in Shabazz Palaces for about five years at this point. Residing in Seattle they have created a sound that's much unlike your typical rappers and the results are often stunning. This year they released their second full-length, the experimental "Lese Majesty" which includes the single "#CAKE" - check out the video above.

[Mixtape] FLYING LOTUS - "Ideas + Drafts + Loops"
The extremely interesting musician Flying Lotus took to Twitter today to bless his fans with a free 24 track mixtape entitled "Ideas + Drafts + Loops". The cuts included on the "tape" includes outtakes from Lotus productions and remixes for himsellf, Captain Murphy, Shabazz Palaces, Thundercat, Kanye West, Earl Sweatshirt, and more. Flying Lotus have always defied labeling, and when he's at his best (like on "Until the Quiet Comes") he's one of the most interesting artists we have got today. Not all of his music hits home, but whatever he does his music is always interesting. Check out the "Black Skinhead" remix featuring Thundercat below and download "Ideas + Drafts + Loop" (320 kbps) below - Enjoy!
