I've been following the talented DMV production duo The Other Guys for quite some time now, and Brooklyn's Tanya Morgan has been interesting to me for quite some time as well. "Blow Your Mind" is a banging collaboration between the two and is the lead single from The Other Guys upcoming debut retail album "Seeds Of Ambition". The Guys has signed to HiPNOTT Records, who is really getting together a slamming roster, and the album will be released on July 15 via the label. You can check out the tracklist and pre-order the CD @ UGHH now while the single can be downloaded now @ iTunes and Bandcamp (as well as pre-order the album on digital and CD, respectively).

THE OTHER GUYS Ft. Tanya Morgan - "Blow My Mind"
The Other Guys have been getting better with each release which is saying a lot considering that even their digital debut was a pretty tight release. After a couple of mixtapes, EP:s and singles, the Other Guys hooks up with the always impressive NYC duo Tanya Mogan which consists of emcees Donwill and Von Pea (who also produce). "Seeds of Ambition" drops on July 15 via HiPNOTT Records.

J-LIVE - "City to City" (Ft. Tanya Morgan)
You know I'm a huge fan of the work of J-Live, a.k.a. The Triple Threat himself, and currently he is working on much anticipated upcoming album "Around The Sun". The recently released Tanya Morgan blessed single "City to City" is the third single from the project and just like the previous outings "Money Matters" and "Not Listening", this is another ill track that really makes me looking forward to the 12 track LP which drops on April 29. Check out the previous singles here where you also be able to stream the entire LP as soon as it's available (of course you'll found an embeded link on The Lost Tapes as well).

[Mixtape/Comp] HiPNOTT RECORDS - "25 to Life"
HiPNOTT Records has been responisble for a whole lot of interesting music this past year, introducing us to retail material from quality artists including junclassic (w. DJ Bazooka Joe), MidaZ The Beast, Amiri, Spectac, The Regiment, Von Pea / Tanya Morgan, to name some of the most prolific of their roster that have been getting covered a lot here @ The Lost Tapes.
With the recently formed record label recently celebrating their 25 release, HiPNOTT has cause for celebration and does just that with their brand new compilation "25 to Life". It is a compilation, featuring previously released material in their full versions, and is such not a mixtape - the reason why I added mixtape to the thread/post topic is to distinguish that this is not a Lost Tapes compilation. This dope twenty two track compilation comes highly recommeded, and peace to the homie KevinNottingham and all the artists involved... You can stream for free below or directly via Bandcamp (where you can also buy the download for $7 USD), Physical CD:s can be bought from UGHH (click for complete tracklist including all artists, producers, guests, etc:), FatBeats, and a few other well sorted stores. Enjoy this one!

[Video] TANYA MORGAN - "Eulogy"
The trio turned duo that is Tanya Mogan's just released their ill full-length "Rubber Soul" that's been quite a few spins over at my place since it first appeared ín full as a Soundcloud sneak-peak. Though the album is not incredible from front-to-back there's plenty of real heat on this disc, and one of the strongest cuts being the laid-back and deep "Eulogy" which is now given the video treament, directed by Joey Angerone, and like the rest of the album the song is produced by The 6th Sense.

[Album] TANYA MORGAN - "Rubber Souls"
Tanya Morgan, the Brooklyn trio turned two-man show following the department of spitter Ilyas. Following their much acclaimed 2009 debut "Brooklynati", emcees Donwill, Von Pea and producer 6th Sense returns with their new LP called "Rubber Souls". If you're up for some clever, smooth, and nice grooving hip-hop I strongly suggest you check it out at SPIN and/or order the wax or CD @ UGHH ASAP. Having listened through the album once, I found that at about half of the album is really fat, while the other half didn't do much for me; but who knows, even those cuts might grow on me. Either way it's a pretty solid album with bangers like "For Real", "Day 1", "Euology", "The Vehicle", the hidden title track and the vinyl only bonus cut "Bae Bro". The group has allowed SPIN to premier a stream of the entire album, including the respective bonus cuts that appears on the CD and vinyl versions.
01. "For Real"
02. "Day One"
03. "The Only One" (Ft. Tiara Wiles, Spree Wilson, Rocki Evans, Mike Maven)
04. "never Too Much"
05. "All Em" (Ft. Outasight)
06. "Pick It Up"
07. "More" (Ft. Rocki Evans)
08. "Euology"
09. "Worldmade"
10a. "The Vehicle" (Ft. Spec Boogie & 6th Sense)
10b. "Rubber Souls"
11. "Ain't Playin'" [CD Bonus]
12. "Bae Bro" [CD Bonus]

Tanya Morgan - "You & What Army"
Tanya Morgan is a hip-hop group currently made up of Brooklyn's Von Pea and Donwill, the latter originally hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. They've been releasing quality music since they debuted with "Moonlighting" in 2006 on Loud Minority Music to generally positive reviews. They really made a name for themeselves with their sophomore album three years later however. "Brooklynati" caused quite a stir in the underground hip-hop community for the then trio, by then also featuring emcee Ilyas. A concept album with insightful rhymes dealing with everyday situation and tight, often soulful production and quality skits rightfully built a devoted fanbase of the trio.
Last week producer/emcee Von Pea and rapper Donwill released a mini album titled "You & What Army?" which premiered on Okayplayer. The release features eight songs and an intro with a running time of 30 minutes, making it almost a full-length album by today's standards. “The EP is a natural progression, in that it blends the production sounds that you heard on our solo albums into one cohesive set of songs”, says Donwill. “We also were conscious of people noticing that the trio is now a duo, so we wanted to ensure that this and all future projects have a different sound and feel than "Brooklynati" and "Moonlighting".”Enjoy this shit y'all, I know I do!
