M-PHAZES / SEAN PRICE - "Dump in the Gut"

Absolutely fantastic news is that Sean Price and M-Phazes is teaming up for the collaborative EP "Land of the Crooks" to be released December 17. This'll be very interesting as these two very rarely drops the ball and with guest apperances from Billy Danze, Maffew Ragazino, DJ Babu, Small Professor, Roc Marciano, Guilty Simpson and Loudmouf Choir you're welcome to get HYPED! Check out the tracklist (instrumentals not listed, though all will be included on the release) and the first single "Dump in the Gut" below.

01. "Bag of Shit" (Ft. Loudmouf Choir)
02. "Dump in the Gut"
03. "Land of the Crooks" (Ft. Billy Danze, Maffew Ragazino & DJ Babu)
04. "Murdah Type Thinkin'" (Ft. Roc Marciano)
05. "Murdah Type Thinkin'" [Small Professor Remix] (Ft. Guilty Simpson)

CORMEGA / RAEKWON - "Honorable"

God damn! I clearly missed some heavy handed gems this past week that I just have to post for y'all.. Cormega and Raekwon trades lyrical venom over a hard ass beat that'll have your blood boiling on "Honorable". This is classic 'Mega right here, and he and Chef just sounds amazing together, kind of reminds me of the "Tony/Montana" joint. Not sure if this is the first single from the Large Professor produced "Mega Philosophy" album that was announced earlier this year, but judging from the sound of it this could definitely be Extra-P.

[EP] SMIF-N-WESSUN - "Born & Raised"

Few groups from the hardcore hip-hop side of things have embodied the roots rock reagge vibe like Boot Camp Clik forerunners Smif-N-Wessun. With that in mind it comes as no suprise that the duo goes all out with the ragga/dancehall sound with the help from superb production team Beatnick & K-Salaam on the just released "Born & Raised" EP. Over smokey bass melody grooves Tek and Steele spits thought provoking verses while guest toasters like Junior Reid, frequent collaborator Jahdan and Jr. Kelly provides extra flavor to the project. "Born & Raised" is out now on Duck Down in several cool packages, including a hoodie, a 7" vinyl, the album on CD, etc. If you got Spotify you can stream the entire project below a well, and make sure to check out the brand new video for "Born & Raised" (Ft. Jr. Kelly) which just dropped in promotion of the release.

UPDATE - Unlike the Spotify version you see below, the Deluxe Version also includes a sick live rendition of "Sound Bwoy Burreil", two instrumental versions and the fat Tek / Ayatollah collaboration "All Massive" (originally released on Tek's 2006 street album "It Is What Is").

GRAND DADDY I.U. - "Sasquatch Feet"

Following the majestic Sadat X collaboration "She Said", legendary Queens spitter Grand Daddy I.U. lets loose the second video from his new album "P.I.M.P. (Paper is My Priority)". "Sasquatch Feet" is a boom banging lyrical exercise from I.U., complete with classic vocal clips from BIG and a percussion driven beat supplied by Gwop Sullivan. According to the e-mail blast from SteadyFlow Entertainment, "P.I.M.P." should've dropped this past Monday, but I can't find any more info on that - if you know what's up please drop a comment below. TURN IT UP!!

K-DEF - "Flashback 1990" / "Soul in a Daw"

New Jersey's finest, K-DEF, continues the tradition of dropping unadulterated dopeness via his Soundcloud page with a slamming little piece called "Flashback 1990" - "for a split second I thought about those days. 1990 mixtapes". Below that you'll find a more laid back 'Def jam entitled "Soul in a Daw"... nice!

4th DISCIPLE Ft. ARMEL & DETIN8 - "Paint"

4th Disciple is well known as the producer of several classic records for Wu-Tang Clan, Killarmy, Sunz of Man and The Gravediggaz, so anytime the Ohio artist comes out with new material you better know it's worth a listen. The recently unveiled demo "Paint" is a great example of 4th's unique style - I'm really digging the way he tweaks and stretches the sample used right here. On the microphone we hear 4th Disciple himself (on the opening verse if I'm not mistaken), as well as Armel (remember "Rough Cut" by GZA?) and Detin8.

[Album] PAT VAN DYKE - "Technicolor Hi-Fi"

The latest release from Elementality sees Pat Van Dyke, producer/drummer of the jazz/hip-hop/fusion duo Lux DeVille, go out on the solo tip with his first full-length entitled "Technicolor Hi-Fi". The instrumental project does a great job of balancing hip-hop rhythms with melodic jazz solos and ensemble sections. On 44 minutes spread out over ten songs, PVD provides a great listening experience with a warmth that'll help you block out the cold winter that's slowly approaching. Featured instrumentalists include such talented musicians as Joshua Davis Barrett (bass; of Q-Tip fame), Jesse Fischer (rhodes & synths; known from Soul Cycle), Jordan Piper (Wurlitzer electric piano), Jordan Scanella (electric bass), and Ben Zeff + Jamieson Ledonio (electric guitars) - look ma, no samples! Peep the music video for the title song up top, stream the complete LP below, and order the limited 2xLP set @ Cotter Records ASAP!

NAMETAG x NAMELESS - "Reaction Remix"

Producer/MC team Nametag & Nameless have quickly risen to one of the foremost flagbearers of Detroit hip-hop, and throughout 2013 they have steadily slugged out banger upon banger - including the LP "For Namesake". For their latest single, the duo has touched up the album track "Reaction" (featuring Miz Korona) into one of their hottest tracks yet.

[Video] ENDEMIC Ft. Darkim Be Allah & Supreme - "Cardinal"

Another crazy cut from one of the UK's hottest producers! This time Endemic rounds up one of my favorites with the super underated Darkim Be Allah and Supreme for "Cardinal", complete with a good looking video directed by Rodolfo Duran. "Terminal Illnes 2" is out on CD now and features a mad line-up of ill guest artists - grab it from UGHH ASAP!

[Video] TONY MOREAUX - "Sign Here"

First off, let me appologize for the lack of updates this past week but it will be back to basics from now on... and first out is Tony Moreaux with the lead singe from his EP "Had You At Hello", due out later this month. The self-produced "Sign Here" sets a good example of what this talented emcee got in store for you, and with production from Da Beatminerz, Evolushin, and Fade you can count on it being 8 tracks of pure dope. Stay tuned!
