Hell yeah, this one deserves a video like hell. The opening track to Meyhem Lauren and Buckwild's absolutely slamming joint LP "Silk Pyramids" which made my top 10 of last years best album (the full list will be published tomorrow with all reviews). Of course also features Action Bronson, and an absolute monster performance from both Buckwild and Meyhem who properly sets the tone for the outstanding LP.

[Tracklist] KILLAH PRIEST - "Planet Of The Gods"
Killah Priest is without a doubt one of the most underrated rappers out there, though at least a lot of people are starting to recognize how dope he really is. Since "The Offering" some of his finest tracks has been produced by Dutch production team Godz Wrath, and for his latest album "Power Of The Godz" will be entirely produced by the crew and feature 20 tracks with no guest verses. Check out the tracklist below, a long with the single "Color Of Ideas" and the new non-album cut "Medication".
01. "Intro"
02. "Citrin" [prod. Black Marvel & Jordan River Banks]

20. "Walt's Day Out" (Bonus Track) [prod. Black Marvel]
AZ - "Vintage"
Unfortunately not a joint from AZ's long-awaited "Doe Or Die II" project, but whatever all AZ is good AZ. I wasn't that big fan of Ghostface's "36 Seasons" (or rather I liked it very much first, but I found it to had zero replay value), but AZ's five verses in character was absolute hip-hop excellence. "Vintage" is a single from producer Rodney Hazard's upcoming "Victim Volontueer" which drops March 15. Cuts by DJ Mekalek.
The Purist - "Patina" (Ft. Roc Marciano) / "El Captain" (Ft. Your Old Droog)
In 2012, UK producer The Purist hooked up with Strong Island's grimiest, Roc Marciano, for the incredible 7" single "Change". Now the duo hooks right back up for a cut lifted from The Purist's upcoming debut album "Pyrex Scholar" and the sound of the song called "Patina" features a smooth sound that Roc sounds absolutely marvelous over. Also from the album comes "El Captain", another soul heavy joint featuring Your Old Droog. Stream both joints below and watch out for the LP whcih drops March 15. Check out the tracklist and pre-order a copy in the format of your choice here.
[Album] Compilation - "MMG - Persona"
Let's continue on the Mello Music Group theme right now. A while back we got some slamming single from an upcoming MMG compilation called "Persona" featuring exclusive songs from a host of the fat roster of the respected indie label, often collaborating with other respected underground artists. Emcees and collaborations on here include a lot of interesting things; how about Oddisee & Phonte, yU & Nottz, Apollo Brown & Ras Kass (produced by Apollo Brown, so almost a "Blasphemy" bonus track), Apollo Brown & Masta Ace, L'Orange & Kool Keith, Red Pill & Oh No, and many more. Very dope compilation that YOU NEED TO HEAR! You can stream the album for free via MMG's Bandcamp where you can also purchase a HQ download of the allbum.
ODDISEE - "That's Love"
Chicago's own Oddisee always bring interesting music to the table (though I gotta admit that I was a bit dissappointed in that second Diamond District album). This is slamming though, with a fast rhythm track, glaring trumpets, an organ note and a beautiful vocal chop and a ill double-time flow from Oddisee. Taken from "The Good Fight" LP which drops on May 5 on Mello Music Group, so stay tuned for more info and music.
BIG SHUG - "The Reason"
Ill track by Big Shug from his second Brick Records album, "Triple OGuz", which will feature the usual ill voiced Shug going in over a variety of topics over production from a host of ill producers. DJ Premier will supply three bangers, including the previously released single "Off Rip", A Kid Called Quest, DJ Brans and a few others. The second single is called "The Reason" and is produced by Work Of Mart signee Gem Crates who does a really good job here - might be the best song I've heard from him yet! Pre-order the CD @ UGHH and receive it for its March 13 release date.
SPIT GEMZ Ft. SHABAAM SAHDEEQ - "News At 11"
Spit Gemz is dropping his next album "Godly Features" on April 14, and as you can hear by the title the album will probbably feature a massive guest list. The first single is produced by Bazooka Joe and features the always super ill Shabaam Sahdeeq, "News At 11". This is some slamming boom bap shit, can't wait for the album!
KOOL KEITH - "My Sons" [prod. Statik Selektah]
Kool Keith is a true legend, from Ultramagnetic MC's, to Dr. Octagonelyst, to Dr. Doom, to Tasha Dorshan, and so on Mr. Keith is a living legend, no question about it. In later years he's been pretty hit or miss if you ask me, but this new joint produced by Statik Selektah really brings out an ill joint from the MC/DJ pair. Interesting to see where this end up!
SLUM VILLAGE Ft. PHIFE DAWG - "Push It Along"
Slum Village grabs Phife Dawg for a revamp of the classic A Tribe Called Quest "Push It Along" joint. Produced by Young RJ and another single from SV's upcoming album "YES". Produced by Young RJ, who I ain't always crazy about, but I gotta say that I love absolutely everything about it!
