Looking forward to getting this soon.
I agree that the 90's aesthetics can be combined with a more modern sound to make "contemporary boom bap". Black Milk does his own take on it, especially with the beats on Random Axe. Apollo Brown and Showbiz definitely seem to be making beats with that traditional feel. Like you said, some of Exile's stuff on Fashawn's Boy Meets World is a great example of that 90's rawness but with a newer feel.dbosscrewwreckanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4817856364695871114.post-51367320690271549402012-04-27T14:45:20.157-07:002012-04-27T14:45:20.157-07:00peace and thanks for your comments Pontid King.. i...peace and thanks for your comments Pontid King.. i usually just put UGHH up as an example to a site where people can find the release easily. good to hear you're gonna support this project, much props to you. i agree that both Bronze Nazareth and Krumb's latest projects was dopeness but imo this is even iller, especially lyricaly.

i'm with you on the golden era as it was will not be awakened but i believe that much of the aesthetics that made the mid '90s so legendary can still be combined with elements from more modern music to create a modernized brand of true school hip-hop. and that's exactly what i think OC and Apollo Brown managed to do with this release. that's basically what i try to do with The Lost Tapes, both pay homage to the classic, rarer releases of the '90s and '80s as well as putting a spotlight on certain artists that i feel still keep the true school formula alive such as Skyzoo, Fashawn, Meyhem Lauren and many others.lost.tapes.claaa7@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03892506574335148333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4817856364695871114.post-21157351617505059882012-04-27T10:12:14.206-07:002012-04-27T10:12:14.206-07:00Will listen it. From what I was getting from it by now, it is sounding different than most material what I've heard. I own Jewelz. That was a similar sound to the golden age stuff they did till '96. Now this beats from the titles sounded hard knocking. That's a trademark in true scholl hip hop. But i suggest the style on the new OC must achieve a certain originality and the sound reaches to real positive vibes. Than i will pay my money for this release. Otherwise School of the blind man was a solid release and by now Krumbsnatcha his new album was good. I don't expect the golden age era will be awakened from it's time. That will be sure. We can expect some solid material of todays artists. If you are into real time when hip hop was exploding with originality and good concepts pay hommage to the golden age era 1992-1996.Pontid Kingnoreply@blogger.com
