"MONUMENTAL" is the monumental Smif-N-Wessun/DJ Pete Rock collaboration which has been whispered about among Soul Brother and Boot Camp headz for a good while now. The album has finally been sealed with a release date as it's now supposed to drop on June 28 via Duck Down; the current home of authentic hip-hop with artists having plenty of creative control.
As you can see advertised in these new promo videos, Tek N Steele will share the mic with heavyweights like Raekwon, Pharoahe Monch, Hurricane G, Bun B, Styles P and Memphis Bleek as well as cameos from fellow Boot Camp Clik fam members Buckshot and Heltah Skeltah. And all taking place over the versatile production styles of Mr. Pete Rock (check that beat at the end of the last video too), you can believe that I'm counting the days!
In case you lived under a rock for the last few months or in some other unexplainable way happened to miss out on the first single from this project, which been out since about January now, you can download "Prevail" featuring Raekwon the Chef. Check Pete's flip on "Criminology" and realize how much better suited he was to create that sequel for Rae's "O.b.4.c.l. 2" rather than the weak version that was ultimately scrapped.
