The somewhat myserious The Black Opera has begun to make a lot of noise the last year or so; I don'r know much about its members and whatnot, but what do I know it's that they pump out original and sick music on a regular basis. In August they released their free Mello Music Group EP, "The Overture", featuring production by the likes of Apollo Brown, SlopFunkDust and DJ Rhettmatic. Still on MMG, the crew is now releasing their official debut album, titled "Libretto: Of King Leto". Using masked faces as their trademark, to let the music speak for itself, they are striving to bring the rugged and raw back to the game we call hip-hop. The full-length album is out now, and to promote the release of the project the gang is also releasing the official visuals to their "Balcony" single. If you're not intrigued by this preview then you're probablöy a lost cauze, but if you find yourself banging your head to the single, I suggest you check out the full-length föocl om amu case anutta Lwhich features cameos and production from the likes of 14KT, Boog Brown, Melody Betts, Mayer Hawthorne, and more.
"After hovering overing the game like a Phantom menace. The Black Opera finally arrives with its electrified boom bap amd layered messages," from MMG's press message sums up quite well what to expect from the 16 tracks presented on "Libretto: King of Leto". You can stream the entire project @ MMG, with the option to buy in formats of digital (see below), vinyl or CD. Enjoy!
