THE BLACK OPERA - "No Water"

The mysterious The Black Opera, the Mello Music Group crew, and while not all that much is not known for certain about them they got a knack for interesting, alternative hip-hop. In 2012 they released their debtut full-length "Enter The Mission" which saw the outfit collaborate with producers and rhymeeslingers like French beatmaker Astronote, Nick Speed, 14KT, DJ Rhettmatic. A few months later they followed u with "Libretto", somewhat of a rush job if you ask me, but now they are releasing their more real sophomore effort. Produced by Wajeed, Talll Black Guy, 14KT, and more, with a guest aperance by Georgia Anne Muldrow. Sounds promising as hell, and here's the first single "No Water" , produced by Jansor J - enjoy and stay tuned for the full thing!

[VIDEO] Black Opera - "Balcony"

The somewhat myserious The Black Opera has begun to make a lot of noise the last year or so; I don'r know much about its members and whatnot, but what do I know it's that they pump out original and sick music on a regular basis. In August they released their free Mello Music Group EP, "The Overture", featuring production by the likes of Apollo Brown, SlopFunkDust and DJ Rhettmatic. Still on MMG, the crew is now releasing their official debut album, titled "Libretto: Of King Leto". Using masked faces as their trademark, to let the music speak for itself, they are striving to bring the rugged and raw back to the game we call hip-hop. The full-length album is out now, and to promote the release of the project the gang is also releasing the official visuals to their "Balcony" single. If you're not intrigued by this preview then you're probablöy a lost cauze, but if you find yourself banging your head to the single, I suggest you check out the full-length föocl om amu case anutta Lwhich features cameos and production from the likes of 14KT, Boog Brown, Melody Betts, Mayer Hawthorne, and more.

"After hovering overing the game like a Phantom menace. The Black Opera finally arrives with its electrified boom bap amd layered messages," from MMG's press message sums up quite well what to expect from the 16 tracks presented on "Libretto: King of Leto". You can stream the entire project @ MMG, with the option to buy in formats of digital (see below), vinyl or CD. Enjoy!

The Black Opera - "Balcony"

The Black Opera is one of Mello Music Group's latest signees, and there's tons of mystery who's really in the group. Back in August, the group released "The Overture EP", a 7 track collection of their music remixed by the likes of 14KT, Apollo Brown, Rhettmatic, SlopFunkDust, and more. This EP served a prelude to their fothcoming album "Libretto: Of King Legend". The LP will be available through MMG on October 30 (pre-order @ iTunes, or grab the CD or 2xLP @ UGHH), but already now the crew lets loose of their official debut single from the album - "Balcony". Produced by Astronote, the mix is filled with a grooving bass line taking center stage wile '80s sounding synths takes the beat to the next level.

[EP] The Black Opera - "Overture"

Black Opera is one of the new names I've been slightly curious about this year, but had yet to hear anything from the group. Signed to Mello Music Group, the group is set to release their official full-length "EnterMission" in a minute. To further the hype and make people aware of their presence, they have however already now decided to release a 7-track preqeul for free download. "Overture" gives a good idea of the sound this crew is relying on, and features production from DJ Rhettmatic, Slopfunkdust, Apollo Brown, 14KT, Nick Speed and J-Rell. Definitely worth your time if you ask me!
