Fokis & Focus Ft. Maffew Ragazino & Asha - "Girl"

Lower East Side emcee Fokis has been bringing some marvelous shit to the table over the last couple of years with his many collaborations with Sadat X and Brand Nubian, leading up to his superb Old School homage tape "A Vintage State of Mind" (search for it if you haven't heard it, well worth it). Aftermath's Focus.. is another very interesting carachter who sure as hell know how to cook up a dope beat; not to mention Brownsville's rising star Maffew Ragazino. Together with singer Asha, they all come together for the new single "Girl" which is lifted from the upcoming retail version of Fokis & Focus.. acclaimed internet project "20/20". The new version will feature five new songs, including this one, and guest features from Livin' Proof, Young Dre The Truth, Stryfe and Mistah F.A.B. The LP will be on sale via Loyalty Digital Corp Ent. on April 23.

Punchline Ft. Fokis, The 17th & Asha - "Dream Chasing"

Punchline hooks up with Bronx bomber Fokus whose recent mixtapes with Brand Nubian's Sadat X have all been really noteworthy; emcee The 17th, singers Asha and the beautifully voiced Nyiah is also on the hook for this smooth banger. "Dream Chasing" is actually the title of this new posse cut from a couple of days ago; a street single that was just released  and is sounding pretty damn GOOD. I'm not sure where this will eventually turn up, but most likely a forthcoming Punchline mixtape/street album so stay tuned for more information and possibly further download links,.

FOKIS x BRAND NUBIAN - "Big Business"

"Created with two purposes in mind, "The Vintage Album" was intended not only to salute Hip-Hop's pioneers but also to re-create the sound and feel of the early '80s through the mid-'90s", reads the press release for Fokis & RP's latest single "Big Business". Produced by Matt Velez, the song is sure to gain attention from its high-profile guest spot from the great Brand Nubians, which herlps give credibility to the aforementioned statement.

Other guests on the August 28 release comes from legends such as Grandmaster Caz, Kool G Rap, Kurtis Blow, DMC, Spoonie Gee, Craig G, Mic Geronimo, Noreaga and more. If that doesn't sound promising, then I don't know what does. Also check the recent "A Vintage State Of Mind" mixtape.

Fokis / Sadat X / Livin' Proof - "Lyrical Homocide"

Lower East Side's Fokis sends out his sick new single "Lyrical Homocide" in tribute to Run DMC. Just like on the previous "Just Sayin'" there's lots of welcome old school vibes on this one. Fokis is set to drop his mixtape A Vintage State Of Mind" on the 21st of this month so be on the lookout. The tape is hosted by Sadat X and mixed by DJ Chonz.

FOKIS - "LYRICAL HOMOCIDE"

Last year Brand Nubian's most prolific emcee Sadat X released his extremely overlooked album "No Features". The CD was fully produced by Will Tell and while it's not one of The X-Man's finest releases it does pack some heat like the video for the single above, "Remember That", and X's always been an interesting rapper.

And as if that wasn't enough, the duo Fokis released their second single from their upcoming De La inspired project, "A Vintage State Of Mind". The song is called "Just Sayin'" and just happens to feature none other than Mr. Derek X so enjoy this double feature y'all cuz they sure both bang!
