The Purist - "Patina" (Ft. Roc Marciano) / "El Captain" (Ft. Your Old Droog)

In 2012, UK producer The Purist hooked up with Strong Island's grimiest, Roc Marciano, for the incredible 7" single "Change". Now the duo hooks right back up for a cut lifted from The Purist's upcoming debut album "Pyrex Scholar" and the sound of the song called "Patina" features a smooth sound that Roc sounds absolutely marvelous over. Also from the album comes "El Captain", another soul heavy joint featuring Your Old Droog. Stream both joints below and watch out for the LP whcih drops March 15. Almost exactly two months ago we heard the excellent "Change" where UK based producer The Purist enlisted Roc Marciano for some always dope vocals. UK producer on the rise, The Purist, has just released his two debut EP:s this year via King Kong Holding Company's BandCamp. The first, "Connect The Spdif EP", features local artists Jhest, Fharma G and Buggsy, as well as some instrumental cuts. Of more interest to The Lost Tapes readers is the "Double Feature E.P.", which features US emcees Roc Marciano, Action Bronson and Ty Nitty rocking over The Purist sick beats. You can stream all nine tracks, including instrumentals, with the option to purchase the mp3s via the link above. A limited 7" 45 single has also been pressed up, featuring the A-side "Change" with Roc Marcy (which you can download for free below) and "Northern & Rozy" with Action Bronson on the flip.
