JOEY BADA$$ x GLASS ANIMALS - "Lose Control"

Boom banging new single from Mr. Bada$$ who here teams up with UK rock band Glass Animals. Although they represent different countries and different genres "Lose Control" comes across as an organic collaboration that showcases both sides strengths and combine them with full force. As if that wasn't enough, Joey Bada$$ recently let loose of a slamming new cut called "Aim High" which sees the young emcee letting loose over an instrumental signed Alchemist and Harry Fraud. Check out both tracks below...

SHABAAM SAHDEEQ - "Tranquillo" / Conceited Confidence"

With his mid-to-late '90s Rawkus work their young signee Shabaam Sahdeeq quickly became an artist to be looking for with through hs terrific wordplay, well thought out and often introspective lyrics appearing on various proects like "Soundbombing II" and several rather mindblowing 12" singles and EP:s. These early recordings ¨truly proved that Sahdeeq was a terrific emcee with an already huge potential that just kept on growing, all placed over production by the likes of Nick Wiz, DJ Spinna, Hi-Tek and The Alchemist to provide his vocals with a cinematc feel. However, when the emcee was dropped from his Rawkus deal, not only were the records he first recorded locked up at the label's publishing, but it seemed a lot of his contats with producers were a lot farther out of reach. The resulting "Never Say Never" droppped on Raptivism in 2001 and clearly didn't deliver on the promises made on Sha's early work. It had it's moments but all-in-all it was a dissapointment. (Trust me, I have been working on early Sahdeeq compilation for some time which should see the light of the day soon).

However, recent singles and collaborations points to Sahdeeq really getting ready to get back in business, just check out the two latest single releases from the New York spitter. The main single that just dropped is a video for the new Harry Fraud produced "Tranquillo" (out now on iTunes) while the other is called "Conceited Confidence", produced by Ran Reed! Both dope joints, and "Tranquillo" is the first track to emerge from Sahdeeq's April 22 album "Keepers of the Lost Art" which drop on Netherlands label Below System. TURN THAT FUCKERS UP!!

[EP] CURREN$Y x SMOKE DZA x HARRY FRAUD

I'm not gonna act like Smoke DZA and Curren$y are very highly regarded by me, but at least Curren$y is pretty entertaining and he's definitely got a good ear for beats. This is once again proven on the new EP "The Stage", a four track EP produced in its entirety by the brilliant Harry Fraud who's been on a real strike lately - a strike which continues here. Check it out and/or download for free below via Soundcloud.

Meyhem Lauren Ft. AG Da Coroner & Action Bronson - "Drug Lords"

Three of the flyest emcees to emerge on the scene during the last few years come together for the video shoot of "Drug Lords". You should recognize the song from Meyhem Lauren's "Respect The Fly Shit" that dropped as a free download a while back. Harry Fraud on the beat, sure sounds complete...

[EP] Action Bronson - "Saab Stories"

Queen's spitter Action Bronson has taken the hip-hop world by storm since he first seriously appeared on the scene with a steady slew of quality mixtapes, EP:s, albums, and guest apperances. Following his absolutely superb free LP with The Alchemist, "Rare Chandeliers", is another producer driven project; and another quality one at that. For "Saab Stories" (just look at that HILARIOUS cover) Bronson hooks up with talented beatsmith Harry Fraud for the seven track project which features the banging single "Seven Series Triplets" with Prodigy and Raekwon, alongside with cameos by Whiz Khalifa and Big Body Bess. If you got Spotify, you can stream the entire project below, and either way you should throw up the $6 it cost to purchase the project @ iTunes.

[Mixtape] PETER ROSENBERG x ECKO UNLIMITED Presents "New York Renaissance"

Peter Rosenberg knows good music and how to put a dope mixtape, that has been proven time and time again. His latest endeavor is in collaboration with Ecko Unltd called "The New York Renaissance", featuring some of the finest hip-hop artists that New York currently got to offer; you'll see names like Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, A$AP Rocky, Flatbush Zombies, Homeboy Sandman, and more, with production from cats such as Oddisee, Harry Fraud, and Dante Ross to name the more interesting. Check it out, there's definitely a bunch of bangers on here, though it's not, at least for me, the best front-to-back listen. Peep it below via DatPiff.

Talib Kweli - "Upper Echelon"

We are all more or less patiently waiting for "Prisoers of Consciousness" to drop as new Kweli is always something to look forward to. His "Ear Drum" album was fantastic shit to my ears, and so was his Madlib produced "Liberation", but judging from the singles released from "P.O.C." so far I don't really know what to expect. While they have been good, there still hasn't been anything that has blown me away, save for a couple of the remixes which with all certainty won't appear on the LP anyways.

The same goes for the latest single from the "Consciousness" project, a Harry Fraud produced, synth heavy affair titled "Upper Echelon". It's good but leaves much to be desired in my opinion, but who knows, maybe it'll grow on me or sound perfect in the context of the album. One thing's for sure, I'm still hyped for the LP and I pray he hasn't gotten rid of The RZA produced cuts that was announced so lonng ago now. You can both stream and download the explicit and main versions of the song via he link below, thoguh emebeding did't work but just hit the link and feel free to drop a comment on your opinions about the song and singles we've heard so far.

[Video] TALIB KWELI - "Upper Echelon"

Talib Kweli let loose the official video for his Harry Fraud produced single "Upper Echelon", directed by Fredo Tovar & Scott Fleishman. This is a bit of a different sound for Kweli, but the emphasis on synth melodies and powerful drum programming puts him right in the zone, I got high hopes for "Prisoner Of Consciousness" (I also hope that those tracks RZA produced for it will still make the final product).

Double Dose of HARRY FRAUD

There's not many new school producers that manages to impress me these days; but one definite exception is Brooklyn's Harry Fraud. Together with Tommy Maas, he's the producer of one of this year's hottest free albums; Meyhem Lauren's "Respect The Fly Shit". The LP's been out for a while now but it kept slipping my mind, so I'm using this opportunity to bring it out for anyone who might still be asleep.

At the same time, I'm using this post to hit y'all up with another Harry Fraud produced free project that just hit the net. "Cigarrette Boats" is a 5-track EP by Curren$y, completely produced by Fraud. Not as crazy as the Meyhem feast above, but still worth a listen. Includes cameos from Styles P and Smoke DZA.

Meyhem Lauren - "Peruvian Desert"

Meyhem Lauren drops another serious heater from his upcoming EP/mixtape, "Respect the Fly Shit". "Peruvian Desert" features not only a hot verse by Meyhem, but also sees Roc Marciano and Action Bronson getting busy on the mic, over what might very well be a Harry Fraud beat. This is the second joint we've heard from the Extended Play so far, following the equally dope "Special Effects".

The entire "Respect The Fly Shit" was recorded completely in 24 hours at a hotel room during this year's SXSW Festival, and sees Meyhem gathering a host of dope emcees to join him in the session. The marathon session features Action Bronson, Roc Marciano, Heems of Das Racist, AG Da Coroner, Despot and for some very strange reason even Riff Raff; production will be completely hanled by Harry Fraud and Tommy Mas. Sounding good so far for sure... No release date yet, but since the project is wrapped and completed, it should drop sooner rather than later so stay tuned. Spotted @ 2DopeBoyz.

Meyhem Lauren - "Special Effects"

"Respect the Fly Shit" is the title of the next (free) offering from Queens' microphone master Meyhem Lauren. Hopefully, we'll be able to hear the whole project soon enough but til' then, we can now hear "Special Effects", a booming cut featuring Action Bronson and Heem of Das Racist. The joint is produced by Harry Fraud, who most of the times got some heat in his backpocket, including "Bars & Hook"; the track he recently did for Awkword, Sean Price and Kid Daytona.
