Troy Ave Ft. Styles P - "Do It"

Brooklyn's Troy Ave might not be a favoite though he undeniably have style, but the great ghost of D-Block is something totally different. When the two New York representatives hook up for a new single the result is nothing short of certified. I couldn't say who produced this but the bass-groove and jazz and funk aesthetics of beat makes this a very interesting joint. "Do It" premiered yesterday by Funk Fex, so it's a censored version of the track but hopefully this will make some noise as we need some dope New York music attracting a broader audience.

SNOWGOONS Ft. STYLES P & GENOVESE - "These Streets"

The German based production unit known as Snowgoons just released their "Black Snow 2" project the other day. The tracklist is filled with some of NY's and the US finest emcees going at it over The Goons' agressive production work, and following the title track single with Ill Bill, Celph Titled, Apathy and Sicknature, the choice for second single has landed on "Walk These Streets". The song features an especially impressive performance from Styles P as well as an apperance from Genovese, and is definitely a decent cut though I think that there's definitely better joints on the album to release as singles tbh.

[Tracklist] WU-BLOCK

The Wu-Tang / D-Block collaboration is just around the corner, with a November 13 release via eOne Music, and finally the tracklist is up for views. Basically a Sheek Louch / Ghostface album with lots of cameos from fellow Wu- and LOX-members, with the right production this will indeed be a rugged LP. It seems that most of the tracks will be completely new to most of our ears as I think "Stick Up Kids" is the only song of the previous singles to make the album. Pre-order the CD @ UGHH.

[Mixtape] Wu-Tang Clan / D-Block - "Wu-Block"

Dennis Coles, the masked assassin broke through on the sccene in 1993. Now, 21 years later and some ten albums later, he stil remains one of the most interesting emcees hip-hop has to offer. He's an amazing story teller, got one of the most unique voices in the game, created his own slang lexicon and knows how to create a real live drama with only 16 bars, no problem; we must never forget that Ghostface music is 100% based in the streets in whatever he does, more than the majority of his Wu brothers GFK represent the streets.

Another group that's the epitome of New York street music are D-Block, originally knwn as The LOX, and out of its members, maybe the most hardcore motherfucker of them all is Sheek Louch. Therefore, the news that Ghost and Sheek were working on a full length album together seemed as natural as Bruce Lee's fighting style. Consdiering that both artists are currently signed to Def Jam, and the leaks have been coming on a regular basis I hink it's safe to safe that the "Wu-Block" album will actually see the light of the day, and probably sooner than we think!

To prove that point, D-Block and Wu-Tang has put together the official mixtape of the same title as the forthcoming album; "Wu-Block". The 11 track tape features all prevuous leaks from the LP; "The Heist" from the Rae/Ghost/Meth album; "Ready 4 War" is actually the original Styles P assisted version of 2006's "Tony Sigel"; "The Outsiderz" is an old D-Block joint. In other words, there's not many exclusives here but it's a great listen and works as a cool prequel to the official album that finally drops in late August. Thanks to HAQ and Hollow Dartz for link and information. Enjoy y'all!

01. "Wu-Block"
02. "Wu-Block Pt. 2"
03. "The Heist" (Ft. Trife Da God)
04. "Block 36th Chamber"
05. "Ready 4 War" (Ft. Beanie Sigel)
06. "The Oursiderz" (Ft. Papoose & Lil' Cease)
07. "Batman"
08. "Barry"
09. "Flash Back"
10. "Tradin' Places"
11. "Hands Up"

Sonnie Carson / Jadakiss / Buckwild - "Willis"

Jadakiss joins rapper Sonnie Carson on "Willis", a single from the latters upcoming debut album "Flight #2012". This shit is pretty dope, but what do you expect when it's Buckwild who's behind the boards?! The beat kinda gives me a similiar vibe to the masterpiece he did with Cormega called "A Thin Line". Thx to fellow DITC head FasterBlade for the heads up on this!

Sheek Louch / Ghostface Killah - "Trading Places"

The "Wu-Block" project promised by Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch seems to come closer to reality each and every day as we're only a couple of days past the last leak ("Hands Up") and we're already getting introduced to another winner from it. "Trading Places" succeeds because of it's ill concept and hearing Ghost tear up DJ Premier's classic LOX production "Recognize". Both these gentleman have been fairly consistant in getting quality music out there so I'm not worried about us getting this soon enough, Since they are also both signed to Def Jam it will be interesting to see if we will be treated to any involvement from No I.D., a "Metal Lungies Part 2" perhaps? Spotted @ 2DopeBoyz.
