Extra-P is a pioneer and one of the most legendary producers in the game, so I'm not all that crazy about this up-and-coming beatsmith calling himself Small Professor. That's a small gripe though considering that he is definitely talented at what he does. On his recent collabo EP "On The Run" with Guilty Simpson he showed his knack for crafting agressive hardcore hip-hop well suited for Guilty's ruff flow and street lyrics, while on this free project "Nasty Jawns", he does a good job of paying homage to soul classics and black music in particular; always with a hip-.hop twist, Here Small P, focuses on the slow grooves that together creates an interesting listen that is most def worth a spin. Oh and if you're at home blasting this, I recommend you close your eyes and let the music take you away on a journey within yourselves as Small P abandons the rugged samples of "On The Run" in favor for well-executed´excerpts by the Gaye briothers, Isaac Hayes, Jodeci, Ron Isley, and more. Enjoy!
