[EP] SEAN PRICE & M-PHAZES - "Land Of The Crooks"

I was very hyped when the news of Boot Camp Clik's always dope Sean Price has hooked up with Australian beat guru M-Phazes for the five track EP "Land Of The Crooks". The record is now out and I've had a review copy for the full project in my mail for a week or so, so with a few listens already in I can say that the extended play is just as dope as one could expect... Not least with guest apperances from Billy Danze, Roc Marciano, Maffew Ragazino, DJ Babu and an exclusive remix from Small Professor & Guilty Simpson. With the actual tracks (not counting instrumentals) clocking in at just over 18 minutes, M-Phazes and Sean Price brings nothing but heat in a true boom bap fashion that surely will guarantee heads nodding. So far it's a digital download only from various digital retailers, which includes the instrumentals as a free bonus. Hopefully, this will eventually find it's way to a limited vinyl pressing - as this would definitely sit well on a turntable, but until then you can either cop.it from iTunes or stream the entire project below, thanks to SPIN,

Maffew Ragazino - "La Coka Nostra"

Maffew Ragazino hasn't been around the block, making a name for himself as one of Brownsville's finest young artist. As Sean Price's cousin he has got a lot to live up to, and his free 16-track album "Rhyme Pays" definitely put him on the map. Now he's back with a new single, complete with a The Godfather nspired cover, called "La Coka Nostra", produced by Jimmy Dukes, that goes pretty damn hard. Watch out for Ragazino's "Brownsvjlle's Jesus" project out soon.

[Video] DJ SKIZZ x REKS x RASHEED CHAPPEL x MAFFEW RAGAZINO - "Day in the Life"

While looking through the related videos when making my last post, I came across the collaboration between Reks, Rasheed Chappel, and Maffew Ragazino from DJ Skizz's magnificent hip-hop opus "B.Q.E. (Brooklyn to Queens Experience)". While the video/single was released roughly a month ago, I missed out on posting it the first time around and I definitely want to take any chance I get to hype up and promote DJ Skizz album; clearly one of the most slept-on of the year. To hear both Reks, Rasheed Chappel and Maffew Ragazino clash on a powerful Golden Age-esque beat with punching drums, superb scratches and a nicely chopped sample. All in all, this is some powerful stuff and if you're still sleeping on "B.Q.E.", you better WAKE THE FUCK UP!!

Also check the videos for "Metal Bars" (w. Masta Ace & Nature), "Vio-Lence" (w. Ill Bill & Lil' Fame),  "Triboro Thoro" (w. Panchi, Big Noyd & H.Stax) and pick up the CD @ FatBeats) ASAP.

BILLY DANZE x SEAN PRICE x MAFFEW RAGAZINO - "Land of the Crooks"

You just gotta love these out-of-the-blue posse cut that brings together the finest underground artists of the past and the present. Here M.O.P:'s Billy Danze (who by the way gets way too little placements compared to his right hand man) and cousins Sean Price and Maffew Ragazino gets together for a hard ass Brooklyn Anthem that's a must hear, set to a powerful M-Phazes track with DJ Babu cutting it up.

"Land Of The Crooks" will appear on an upcoming compilation from Coalmine Records (Nottz/Blu, Guilty Simpson/Small Professor, M-Phazes, etc.) called "Unearthed" which is now set for a January 2014 release. This reminded me of another Coalmine Records compilation that had some superb singles back around 2012, so I was doing a quick search to see if that was ever relesed.... Well, turns out this is the exact same compilation that's just been pushed back, from all the tracks I've heard so far this will be one for the books (do a quick google search on Coalmine Compilation + claaa7 and you should be able to find all previous singles).

Termanology Ft. Inspectah Deck & Maffew Razino + Sheek Louch, Lil' Fame, Kay Slay

Termanology is preparing another LP this year and its titled "G.O.Y.A. (Gunz & Yay Available)" and is sheduled for a October 8 release via ST/Brick Records. I got two singles for you from the LP and they are both intense posse cut featuring fellow NY talents in Inspectah Deck and Maffew Ragazino for "You Ain't Safe", and DJ Kay Slay introduces Term, Sheek and the always incredible Lil' Fame on "Straight From The Block". Despite the status of these guests they are only a small amount of all the rhymers and guest vocalists that Term has rounded up for "Goya". Or how about Reks, NORE, Chris Rivers, JuJu, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor, Action Bronson, Jared Evans, Tony Touch, Doo Wop, and a few others. The entire project is produced by Shortfyuz, an-up-n-coming producer from Term's neighborhood. Enough said, check the tracklist and the two joints right below (Three if you count the NORE single I liked to above)! I really dug the LP with Lil' Fame so let's see if this can live up to that one...

1. STV News (Ft. Sway)
2. Scandalous (Ft. Chris Rivers)
3. Pulp Fiction (Ft. Reks)
4. Judo (Ft. NORE)

Fokis & Focus Ft. Maffew Ragazino & Asha - "Girl"

Lower East Side emcee Fokis has been bringing some marvelous shit to the table over the last couple of years with his many collaborations with Sadat X and Brand Nubian, leading up to his superb Old School homage tape "A Vintage State of Mind" (search for it if you haven't heard it, well worth it). Aftermath's Focus.. is another very interesting carachter who sure as hell know how to cook up a dope beat; not to mention Brownsville's rising star Maffew Ragazino. Together with singer Asha, they all come together for the new single "Girl" which is lifted from the upcoming retail version of Fokis & Focus.. acclaimed internet project "20/20". The new version will feature five new songs, including this one, and guest features from Livin' Proof, Young Dre The Truth, Stryfe and Mistah F.A.B. The LP will be on sale via Loyalty Digital Corp Ent. on April 23.

Maffew Ragazino - "Bruce Leroy Glow"

Maffew Ragazino's been dropping fat single upon fat single since he broke through on the scene a couple of years back. The latest joint in the series is a tight jam called "Bruce Leroy Glow", saluting "The Last Dragon" and Taimak's Leroy. A question for y'all - any interest for a Maffew Ragazino compilation @ The Lost Tapes?

Livin' Proof x Maffew Ragazino x Chi-Ali - "Better Known as NYC"

I saw a sneak preview of the studio session for this last week and been anticipating the full release since, and was suprised to see it had arrived in my inbox already a couple of days ago. "Better Known as NYC" is a single from Livin' Proof's album "Die For A Deal 5.0" which is slated for an early April release. The guest features from Maffew Ragazino and Chi-Ali are both very welcome and neither fail to deliver, really good track when you get past the first 20 seconds which sounds more like some Euro Dance single (wtf was that about?!).

Maffew Raggazino - "Box Office Smash"

Maffew Raggazino dropped a free LP last year that featured plenty of heat, but since then he's been responsible for a large amount of dope singles awaiting his next free album "While Gold" which hit the net next month. The latest single from the Brownsville emcee is titled "Box Office Smash", and is prodcued by Joe Black & Royz for Jokey Ent, features a cameo from Troy Ave and is presented by Complex Magazine. Dope!

Maffew Ragazino - "Friday"

Brownsville, New York has brought us some of the finest rhyme slingers in the industry through the years, and the latest emcee to hail feok The Ville is Maffew Ragazino. In early 2010 he dropped his street album "Rhyme Pays", a solid rlease featuring production by Frank Dules, Clark Kent, Digga, Harry Fraud. Following that has been a pair of really dope joints; "Brownsville Bullies" with Lil' Fame and Teflon, and most recently the absolutely brilliant video for "Got 2 Love It".

Now he's back with another heavy hitter, and I for one can't fucking wait for a proper Raggazino debut. "Friday" is the first joint for Fokis' Loyal Digitl Corp. label.

Maffew Ragazino - "Got 2 Love It"

There's been a lot of great younger emcees breaking through the last couple of years, bringing a level of freshness to the game while keeping the elements that made us all fans of this shit to begin with intact. One of those cats are Brooklyn's Maffew Ragazino who has hit us with several brilliant singles in 2012, and here he goes again with "Got 2 Love It"; a fitting title for this blazing cut that's superbly produced by Bink!.

Maffew Ragazino / Lil' Fame / Teflon - "Brownsville Bullies"

Maffew Ragazino mangaded to build hype with "Rhyme Pays", a good project that was wisely more a full-length debut album than the traditional mixtape. Now the rhymer is preparing his first retail album, titled "Never Run, Never Will", a classic Brownsville slogan. So what better way to kick things off with a first single featuring not only M.O.P.'s Lil' Fame, but also the super underrated First Family member Teflon, who we see way too little these days. Produced by DJ Skizz.

The LP will feature a lot of other intersting guests, including Masta Ace, Billy Danze, DV Alias Khryst and Sonnie Carson. No date as of yet, but shouldn't be long now, and we still got "Rhyme Pays" to bang. Fizzy Womack fanatics like myself can also check out the video to his guest feature on 1982's latest album here: "Live It Up".

Free LP: MAFFEW RAGAZINO

Maffew Ragazino's debut album "Rhyme Pays" not only bangs hard as hell, but he's giving out as a free download as well! This is a great way to get familiar with the Brownsville spitter, judging by the sounds of this LP, we will hopefully hear alot from him in the near future. Supporting his undeniably sick verses is production supported by Frank Dukes (who laced some of the best tracks on Ghost's last one), DJ Clark Kent, Harry Fraud, Digga, Sha Banga and others. Fellow Outdoorsmen member Action Bronson joins in on the track "Jordan vs. Bird". While you're at it, check out the new interview with Ragazino @ HipHopDX.com.
