[EP] NUMONICS - "An Unreasonable Man"

Numonics is a talented producer hailing from Florida who made a name for himself when he hooked up with lyrical wonderkind REKS and produced the entirety of his "Rebelutionary" album. Now Num' is back with a new three-part (mainly) instrumental EP series showcasing his talents behind the boards. The first installment is called "An Unreasonable Man" and features an eclectic mix of classic soul, funk, vintage East Coast hip-hop and elements of rock. Well worth checking out! Spotted @ 2DBZ.

[Album] NUMONICS - "5 Years"

South Florida beatsmith Numonics, producer of REKS "Rebelutionary" as well as individual tracks by Planet Asia/Ras Kass, AWKWORD/Chaundon, J Nics and Koncept, have quietly been working on his own solo album "Bury Me in the Attic". The twelve track instrumental project deals with a numerous of styles, or as Numonics puts it "["Bury me in the Attic"] blends hip hop, with drum n bass, trap and industrial to create a dark, genre-bending sound". Not a masterpiece, but an interesting listen nonetheless... Check it out below thanks to DJBooth!

REKS - "Flags"

REKS is one of the sharpest young lyricists holding it down at the moment, despite the amount of quality material he's been able to pump out on a regular basis. His album with produced Numsonics "Revolution Coctail" was originally given a release date in February, but has now officially been pushed back to July 2, which I personally think it's a good thing considering how many albums he released in a very short time the last two years or so; it's not a smart move to overflood the market too much, because people have a tendency to not find it anything special no more. The single "Flags" is the latest track to leak from the project, and though it's not one of his best at all it's still definitely worth a listen as lyrics and delivery are on point as always.

Reks Ft. Bishop Lamont - "Trust Us"

REKS hooks up with somewhat underrated West Coast spitter Bishop Lamont for "Trust Us", the follow-up single to the Lee Bannon produced "Judas". For this single the emcee has linked back up with Numsonics, the producer whom he worked with on his previous album; "Rebelutionary". Both songs will appear on REKS' forthcoming sixth (by my accounts) LP, "Revolution Cocktail" which is slated to drop on February 26.

[EP] NUMSONICS - "The Fiona Apple Project]

At the moment producer Numsonics might be best known for "REBELutionary", his joint album with emcee Reks, but it's clear the producers work doesn't stop there. For this 5-track free EP, Numsonics gives his own spin on singer-songwriter Fiona Apple's latest album "The Idler Wheel...", resulting in a different sound that should be appreciated by those who keep an open mind when it comes to music. After a conversation with my friend and fellow producer J57, I decided to sample some of the new Fiona Apple album [The Idler Wheel...] and this is what came out. 5 beats done in one day. I wanted to stay true to the minimalist vibe that is present in that album as well as showcase the emotional feeling these songs presented. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.” - Numsonics
