MIDAZ THE BEAST - "The New #52" (Vol. 17, 18, 19)

Since I haven't been updated The Lost Tapes as much as I would have preferred this last month, two relatively new exclusives from L.T. favorite MidaZ The Beast's "The New #52" series (the weekly music serial released by MidaZ and his camp once every week together with complete single artworked designed by talented comic book artist Gift Revolver) slipped under the radar. As I often say, better late than never, so be sure to check out the latest madness from The BEAST. First out is "Gotta Get Over" (which you'll find uptop) where you find MidaZ going in HARD over the dark funk (complete with sinister strings, a chopped hard bop sax, vocal stabs, a pounding bass line, and even a broken accoustic piano while our man goes deep - might just be one of my favorites from the series yet!

Second cut is a more laid-back, bass heavy "Grown Fol Music" where MidaZ takes a lyrical journey between battle type lyrics and the occassional more spiritual and/or introspective lyric. The constant bass line and the drum programming (the latter which is very, very low in the sonic image. The electric bass and the ocassional rhodes however is what truly makes this track a long with impressive verses by guest emfcee Kinetic 9 of Killarmy fame and of course MidaZ himself. Powerful song for real, and not suprisingly produced by IMAKEMADBEATS,

The most recent "New #52" track is a HARDCORE posse cut produced by AJ of Dynaite Bruh's, and started out as a Sha Stimuli track featuring Wordsworth (the finished song also features D'Augustine). I absolutely love rugged and raw posse cuts of this nature, uncompromising and hard hitting so I might even go out on a limb and say that this is the sickest yet out of all the "New #52" releases. MIDAZ THE BEAST - "The Architext" (Ft. Has-Lo)

Two of the most interesting underground artsits to emerge from the last few years goes at it hardbodie on "The Architext". It is produced by MidaZ' P.N.C. #1 IMAKEMADBEATS and features strong performances on all parts. Originally recorded for the "Dare Iz A Doxside Part II", and while it might still appear there fans are treated to it as the twelvth entry in the New 52 series, so enjoy!

Lost Tapes favorite MidaZ The Beat and his long-tme associate producer IMAKEMADBEATS together form the duo BlakOut. For the fourth volume in Doxside's weekly 2014 series The New 52 is a joint by the team called "Cold Outside", and is another HQ release from the series. MidaZ The Beast keeps the promo for his excellent "AU: Another Universe" on lock by making one of my personal favorites of the LP into a single. "Seeing is Believing" sees MidaZ teaming up with Blueprint and Sabac Red over a slamming IMAKEMADBEATS heater. You better grab that CD ASAP!

MidaZ The BEAST - "Champion Of The Block"

MidaZ follows up his recent "Fire", with the equally hard driven "Champion Of The Block", produced by long time associate IMAKEMADBEATS. This is the second single from MidaZ long awaited official solo debut, "AU: Another Universe" which finally hit stores next Tuesday via HiPNOTT Records... So get ready!

MidaZ The BEAST - "Fire" [IMAKEMADBEATS Remix]

Last week Lost Tapes favorite MidaZ unveiled the lead single "Fire" which sets the stage for his proper solo debut "AU: Another Universe" which hit the streets on August 20. A good chunk of the LP is produced by IMAKEMADBEATS, who already had a good working relationship with MidaZ through their collaborations on projects like "LOOPS" and "Daylight / Nightlight", so it's fitting that he's the one to drop the first official remix to the single. While Marco Polo's original had more of a steady driving force behind it, IMAKEMADBEATS focuses on a more laid back vibe while keeping the drums amped up so to not lose the headbang effect. K-Hill - "Power Of The Tongue II" [Remix]

IMAKEMADBEATS has put his own spin on K-Hill's (from Elementality Productions) "Power Of The Tongue II" which is the lead single from his upcoming EP "Achilles' Hill". The digital single includes both the remix and the original mix, produced by Analogic, along with instrumentals for both version. The EP drops on February 26, but like with many EMPB releases, it will be followed by a full-length LP version coming a few months later.

Doxside Music Group's MidaZ The Beat has been making moves this year, and trust me when I tell you that it's only a matter of time before he really blows up on the underground circuit. From starting with rhyming over borrowed instrumentals by the likes of DJ Muggs, Pete Rock an El Michiel Affairs, his latest release "LOOPS" sees him absolutely killing it, over original production, meaning he's really coming into his own. Don't believe me? IMAKEMADBEATS & MidaZ The Beast - "Figaro Chain Mystery"

Producer IMAKEMADBEATS recently released the very cool concept album, "Daylight / Nightlight" via Doxside Music Group. Some of y'all might remember that this was originally conceivied as two separate EP records, one featuring Butta Verses and the other with Midaz the Beast handling microphone duties. Besides the original fourteen tracks, the new repackaged album version also features a couple of fresh bonus cuts, including the dark "Figaro Chain Mystery".
