MIDAZ THE BEAST - "The New #52" (Vol. 17, 18, 19)

Since I haven't been updated The Lost Tapes as much as I would have preferred this last month, two relatively new exclusives from L.T. favorite MidaZ The Beast's "The New #52" series (the weekly music serial released by MidaZ and his camp once every week together with complete single artworked designed by talented comic book artist Gift Revolver) slipped under the radar. As I often say, better late than never, so be sure to check out the latest madness from The BEAST. First out is "Gotta Get Over" (which you'll find uptop) where you find MidaZ going in HARD over the dark funk (complete with sinister strings, a chopped hard bop sax, vocal stabs, a pounding bass line, and even a broken accoustic piano while our man goes deep - might just be one of my favorites from the series yet!

Second cut is a more laid-back, bass heavy "Grown Fol Music" where MidaZ takes a lyrical journey between battle type lyrics and the occassional more spiritual and/or introspective lyric. The constant bass line and the drum programming (the latter which is very, very low in the sonic image. The electric bass and the ocassional rhodes however is what truly makes this track a long with impressive verses by guest emfcee Kinetic 9 of Killarmy fame and of course MidaZ himself. Powerful song for real, and not suprisingly produced by IMAKEMADBEATS,

The most recent "New #52" track is a HARDCORE posse cut produced by AJ of Dynaite Bruh's, and started out as a Sha Stimuli track featuring Wordsworth (the finished song also features D'Augustine). I absolutely love rugged and raw posse cuts of this nature, uncompromising and hard hitting so I might even go out on a limb and say that this is the sickest yet out of all the "New #52" releases. [New 52] MidaZ The Beast - "Here I Come"

I've missed out on a couple of weeks of MidaZ The Beast's The New 52 series so it's time to catch up for y'all. The last one I posted was #13, the inspired freestyle over Dilla's powerful "King", and today MidaZ let loose of another one of his vintage collaborations with IMAKEMADBEATS called "Here I Come". Press play on the embeded player up top while below you'll find volumess 14 and 15 below; "You Got It" is another freestyle over a low-key Dilla banger while "Writer's Block" is a soulful wondertrack that might just be my favorite New 52 joint yet. I can't fucking wait to get a vinyl copy of the 16 or so greatest tracks from this series.

[New 52] MIDAZ THE BEAST - "King"

For the thirteenth installment of MidaZ The Beast's stupid fresh New 52 series, MidaZ uses the opportunity to bang it out to one of those Dilla gems we all love. The track is from an old Jay Dee beat tape but was officially released on the Pete Rock helmed "Jay Stay Paid". Sounding good!

MIDAZ THE BEAST - "The Architext" (Ft. Has-Lo)

Two of the most interesting underground artsits to emerge from the last few years goes at it hardbodie on "The Architext". It is produced by MidaZ' P.N.C. #1 IMAKEMADBEATS and features strong performances on all parts. Originally recorded for the "Dare Iz A Doxside Part II", and while it might still appear there fans are treated to it as the twelvth entry in the New 52 series, so enjoy!

MidaZ The BEAST - "We Don't Love 'Em"

Another hot recent joint that I'm just getting too is the 11:th entry in MidaZ The BEAST's weekly "New 52" series. Entitled "We Don't Love 'Em" MidaZ takes the opportunity to go in hard over one of the hip-hop classics:

[New #52] MIDAZ & DMG - "The Hallway"

As promised, Lost Tapes favorite MidaZ The BEAST promised something special for number #10 in the New 52 series and as "The Hallway" is now released it turns out it's a posse cut. Produced by TzariZM, and featuring sick rhymes by MidaZ, Rugged, Synopse and TzariZM himself. Enjoy this heavy banger, and later tonight or at the very latest tomorror The Lost Tapes will present an exclusive interview with MidaZ The BEAST that I think a lot of y'all will absolutely love, because there's a lot of great Q&A:s in there. Wait a minute fellas!

MIDAZ The BEAST - "Listen"

Nine weeks into 2014 and MidaZ The Beast's The New 52 keeps rolling out hard boiled shit to bang your head to. "Listen" is a wonderfully laced joint on both MidaZ part and producer Sharp who's accoustic bass loop and filtered vocal sample makes you do just what the title suggest. And if you can't get enough of MidaZ check back in a few hours when his "F.N.U." premiers as the second single from "The UpRising"  here @ The Lost Tapes.

MidaZ The BEAST - "Change" [prod. Was Legit]

MidaZ wasn't joking when he said he was going HARD this year.. his latest free project, the weekly "New 52" series is now already at its 8th installment and so far all of the music has been bangers (well, what do you expect - it is MidaZ after all). Also look out for an exclusive Lost Tapes premier of a MidaZ joint that was left off the final tracklist of "AU" to hit the internet very soon! On "Change":

"Change was actually a song I was working on that was supposed to feature a verse from Grand Puba. My cousin was working with Puba on some stuff and the connect was made. Even the song never gained the Puba feature, I decided to tack another verse on it and finish it anyway. Recorded this some time during Obama's first term. Shouts to my man Ben Goraj on the art on this one. Represents what I was trying to say in the song beautifully" - MidaZ

MIDAZ The BEAST - "Head Shots"

Whoa, another hard boiled banger from MidaZ The BEAST, produced by the talented Vanderslice, called "Head Shots". As you know MidaZ is going hard as ever this year, releasing a new single every week and can you believe we are already on "The New 52" part #7? If the quality will remain as high as they have been so far I would love a 2xLP set of the best of "The New 52" at the end of the year.

MIDAZ THE BEAST - "Maria"

Lost Tapes favorite MidaZ The Beast continues dropping one new, or previously unreleased, track each week in his "The New 52" series that he and his Doxside Music Group started during the first week of 2014. With each new week MidaZ have released one dope track and is intending to do so for the rest of the year. So far all of the music has been banging, hardly being throwaway records by any means - if you have missed out on any installment prior you can either click the New 52 tag at the bottom of this post or simply click the Doxside Bandcamp link here. For number #6 in the series MidaZ take it back to his early days when he used to create brand new tracks (as far as lyrics goes) over previously released classics from the likes of El Michaels Affair, DJ Muggs, and Pete Rock. Here he drops two intense verses of The RZA produced "Maria", a beautifully produced joint that I always held as one of my many favorites on "Wu-Tang Forever" when it dropped and still does.... As MidaZ goes in hard, don't be fooled that this is some quickly written freestyle, but real verses with a lot of thought put behind them. I'm about to itnerview MidaZ very soon, about his long career, with much focus on his "AU" and "New 52" projects. For the fourth volume in Doxside's weekly 2014 series The New 52 is a joint by the team called "Cold Outside", and is another HQ release from the series. "This weeks entry into the NEW 52 is a joint that was created when IMAKEMADBEATS sent me a beat to write a song to for inclusion in a compilation for a website. Said website ended up scrapping the idea for the compilation but the song still exists! IMAKEMADBEATS specifically asked me to write a song with a "Winter" feel to it. MidaZ The BEAST - "It's Goin' Down" / "Hat Trick"

MidaZ The BEAST had 2013 on lock with his fat debut LP "AU: Another Universe" and several memorable guest spots. This year will bring even more goodies from the HiPNOTT/Doxside emcee as he just started his weekly series "The New 52". The concept is that each week will bring a brand new MidaZ single, complete with fresh cover art by DMG comic book artist Gift Revolver. How dope is that?

This weeks joint is called "It's Goin' Down" and is a collaboration with Vets of Kin members Jbiz, Shinobi Stalin and producer Abbot... And as I wasn't up on this new project from MidaZ until today, make sure to also check out the soulreeking solo banger "Hat Trick" which set it all off last week.. AND TURN IT UP!
