Boaz is a Pittsburg emcee who released his debut album "The Audiobiography" in 2009. This Tuesday's he's getting his sophomore on, with the release of "Intuition" which features production and guest spots from the likes of !llmind, Jadakiss, Styles P, Junior Reid, and Larry Fisherman. For the !llmind produced single "Like This", Boaz has unveiled two remixes - one representing the West Coast and featuring Crooked I, Murs and Fashawn, and now the East Coast remix which sees Boaz getting busy together with Oddisee, Termanology & Vinny Radio. [Album] !LLMIND - "Illuminati"

If you're a fan of !llmind's moody synth driven beats and the dark atmosphere he loves to conjure up, you'd be pleased to hear that the talented producer just released a free instrumental 12 track project entitled "Illuminati". !lllmind can be hit or miss with me, sometimes he's absolutely fantastic and other times I don't really care for his soundscapes, but listening to the first track here it definitely sounds good so be sure to give it a spin if you're into instrumental hip-hop that tells a story without vocals.

MOBB DEEP x GHOSTFACE KILLAH - "Dirt"

This is chunky as hell, and definitely bring back memories of the original "The Infamous...". Since I saw Mobb Deep in concert last week I've been on a real Mobb roll lately, and the dirty !llmind produced "Dirt" is without a doubt one of the absolute top joints from the group's latest. Now it's even iller as Ghostface Killah adds his own verse to the track, and it's classic Ironman.

[Album] SKYZOO & TORAE - "Barrell Brothers"

Skyzoo and Torae finally gets together for an official album which is especially exciting as these two cats represent a younger generation of really talented East Coast emcees and they both broke into the industry around the same time. From what I've heard so far the album, "Barrell Brothers", is structured around Sky and Tor spitting seriously ill shit, building off each other's energy, over high powered boom bap bangers supplied by the likes of DJ Premier, Oh No, Black Milk, !llmind and Khrysis. The entire album steams for free @ DJBooth (where you can also purchase the downlaod) while the CD now ships from UGHH and other retailers.

EDIT - Be sure to also check out "Got It From Here", a bonus track for iTunes and the forthcoming vinyl release produced by Apollo Brown. Actually one of the strongest cuts of the project for me.

Skyzoo and Torae, sometimes by far two of the most itneresting emcees out of the "new" NYC area of young spitters, are finally getting together for an official release entitled "Barell Brothers". Featuring proudction by !llmind, DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Oh No, Black Milk, Khrysis, Apollo Brown and more, this is bound to be dope. Skyzoo's "A Dream Deferred" Out Now!

Brooklynite Skyzoo always has some interesting things to say, and is one artist whose lyrics rewards listeners upon repeated listenings. I've been sold since "The Salvation", but that is not to say that there's been a few of his projects that haven't really made much for me. The two singles from his latest Duck Down release, "A Dream Deferred" has managed to imrpess me though, and I will definitely keep my ears open for this project. Up top you see the new visuals for "Give It Up", where Sky's getting busy over the !llmind produced, heavily spaced-out "boom trap" sound that he's been experimenting with lately. You can cop "A Dream Deferred" @ iTunes, but if you are like me and prefer your music in the physical format, it's available on CD from UGHH amongst other sites. Still no word on an LP set though...

Skyzoo - "Give It Up"

The second official single from Skyzoo's October 2 release, "A Dream Deferred". This one sees an hungry Sky go in over an updated sound ("boom-trap" it's referred to on the Soundcloud page) provided by !llmind with DJ Prince on the cut. I love how the percussion track keeps transforming throughout, definitely makes for an ill cut.

Has-Lo's dropped some of the more impressive music of the last couple of years with his LP's "In Case I Don't Make It" and "Conversation B". A few days ago, he and his label Mello Music Group decided to give away the digital version of his very first 45 RPM 7" single which you can pre-order here. The A-side features my clear favorite of single, the Apollo Brown produced "Stained Glass" but !llmind's "Make A Beat" is definitely real good too.
