I'm a huge fan of pretty much everything producer Preservation has done ever since I first heard him on that "Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture" compilation. And KA was of course down with the Natural Elements and though I probably heard some verse back then, it was first on GZA's "Pro Tools" album and then on Roc Marcy's albums that I really became aquainted with this rugged Brownsville spitter. Now the two are hooking up as an MC/producer duo under the name of Dr. Yen Lo. The video to their first single is directed by the group himself (KA really loves doing it all by himself), produced by Preservation and vocals entirely produced by KA. I'm not sure when the album, titled "Days With Dr. Yen Lo" will drop, but this is a cool introduction that I'm sure will grow on a lot of people.

[Album] KA - "The Night's Gambit"
KA has been releasing a steady stream of dope music for the past few years, and with his third official solo album he doesn't stray from the path. Like its most immediate predecessor, 2012's superb "Grief Pedigree", "The Night's Gambit" sees KA spitting raw, honest lyrics over dark, and foreboding beats as he works double shifts as both emcee and producer on all tracks. The album is not yet available worldwide on physical copies, though KA himself sold vinyl and CD pressings outside the former Fat Beats shop in Manhattan this past weekend. However, the entirety of the project can now be streamed via NPR and you can also show your support through an iTunes purchase. While you're at it, make sure to check out the new video for "Off The Record" too.

[Video] KA - "Our Father"
KA, the former Natural Elements spitter, has been on fire since he seriously launched his solo career a few years back. His latest single "Our Father" continues that tradition with an especially inspired vocal performance. Apparantly this is the first release from an upcoming album titled "The Night's Gambit", something I'm really looking forward to!

KA - "To Our Name"
Brownsville spitter KA released one of this year's grimiest albums with "Grief Pedigree" this summer. Vinyl heads got a slamming bonus track entitled "To Our Name" which is now available in mp3 format thanks to EgoTrip. Bang it loud!

Roc Marciano - "Nine Spray" (Ft. Ka)
November 13 is the date for one of the real must-buy's of the year; Roc Marciano's "Reloaded". While we've been treated to a lot of slamming Roc Marcy cuts recently, very few of them have been actual singles from the album, but today Decon hits us with the third official single from the project (following "76" and "Emeralds"). This hardbody banger is produced by Ray West and is another collaboration with Brownsville spitter Ka.

[VIDEO] KA / Roc Marcy - "Iron Age"
Brownsville's KA has really impressed me ever since I heard his early guest apperances on GZA's "Pro Tools" and Marcy's "Marcberg". Since then, he's been dropping two hot albums, the latest without a doubt being the absolute hottest. This is real hardcore rap right here; basically if you like Roc Marciano, you're gonna like KA. And if you still haven't checked out his excellent "Grief Pedigree" take 35 minutes of your day and give it a front-to-back, I can't imagine you'd be dissapointed. "Iron Age" is the latest video from the self-produced "Grief Pedigree", and also the only joint to feature any guest emcee. As usual, Ka directed and edited the video by himself. Poweful ish!

[Video] Ka - "Up Against Goliath"
Former Natural Elements spitter, Brownsville's Ka delivers another nice set of visuals from his superb 2012 release "Grief Pedigree". I would love to see the self-producing emcee's latest joint get a proper vinyl release, but until then you can show your support by copping the CD or grab the digital. "Up Against the Goliath" is not only produced and performed by Ka, but he's also the director and editor of the video.

[VIDEO] Ka - "No Downtime"
Back in the late '90s, Brownsville emcee Ka was a member of the Natural Elements collective, before a longer break from the rap game to hone his mic and production skills. I first encountered him again on his Roc Marciano produced solo cut, "Firehouse", from GZA's "Pro Tools". After being the sole guest feature on Roc Marcy's 2009 LP, Ka has released two brilliant albums, "Iron Works" and this years "Grief Pedigree". Both albums are highly recommended; just check out the latest single/video "No Downtime" up top and decide for yourself.

KA - "Decisions"
Ka is a heavy spitkicker hailing from Brownsville, NY. He's affiliated with Roc Marciano and most of y'all might've heard him on GZA's 2008 album "Pro Tools" where he was even given a heavy solo cut in the form of the Roc Marcy produced "Firehouse"; one of the LPs hottest track, More recently he traded bars with Marciano on "We Do It" from Roc's "Marcberg". In 2012 the vicious street style rhymer has just released his second album "Grief Pedigree" where "Decisions" is lifted from. Just like his original partner-in-rhymes music, the album is fully produced by Ka with the only cameo coming from Roc Marciano on "Iron Age". To cop music and check out more info on KA visit Ka's Official Website or buy "Grief Pedigree" in digital format via Amazon. Mad shous to the homie Angry! for putting me on to Ka's latest LP.
