DJ PREMIER Ft. THE LADY OF RAGE - "Chemical Burn" / DJ PREMIER Ft. NYGz - "My Influences"

Barely a week ago I posted the radio rips of these courtesy of DJ Premier's LiveFromHQ show and ripped and uploaded by Kensy and Gom (a.k.a. the good folk @ the original DJ Premier Blog. Now thanks to that very same site we can now hear both Lady Of Rage's "Cheical Burn" and a brand new track by NYGz called "My Influence". Lady Of Rage is one of the craziest spitters out there and probably the female emcee that Preem has worked the most with - her '97 debut album "Necessary Roughness" featured three collaborations with everybody's favorite DJ, but he also mixed like half of the album. Last time we heard them together was on the remix to NYGZ "Welcome 2 G-Dom", so it's a little cool that the second track we're presented with today is a hardcore hit by Sha and Panchi titled "My Influences. As dope as this is, a long with tracks like "Policy" "Ready",  and the roguh demos and/or snippets for "Last Night", "Year Round G" and "Give it to Ya Raw" are it's starting to piss me off that we haven't even gotten a street album or a proper sample in the meantime ("Welcome 2 G-Dom" was really dope but it's been what, 7-8 years now?). Anyway, enough complaining because both of these tracks are absolutely nuts and should be played as LOUD as the kicksnare demands.

Both songs are available on a limited 12" presented by DJ Premier and Serato, and also includes two previously unreleased instrumentals from the man. Definitely sounds like an extremely sick EP, but I don't know the first thing about Serato.. Does this record play on a regular turtable?

DJ Premier is releasing a collaboration with Serato in the form of a 12" single featuring four brand new cuts. The two vocal tracks comes from Lady Of Rage and NYG'z so you know that's something worth getting hyped over! As both joints were premiered live on the air by Preemo we are now able to hear early rips thanks to the DJPremierBlog.

[Album Stream] MARCO POLO - "PA2: Director's Cut"

Ooooooh shit, the time is finally hear! If you've been following this blog for at least two months you know that I've been superhyped about the release of Marco Polo's official follow up to his 2007 album "Port Authority"; even going as far as stating that this will without a doubt be among the very best albums of 2013. "PA2: Director's Cut" officially hits stores and retailers via Soulspazm Records this Tuesday but the label and artist have decided to let loose of a full stream of the LP a little early, and luckily I happened to sit at the computer just as they did so so I'm breaking my neck and shaking my head in disbelief to this boom bap monster full of ludicrous hard beats, a guest lists that probably haven't been matched since Pete's first "Soul Survivor" and a whole lot of cuts from turntable wizards such as Shylow, DJ Revolution, and DJ Romes. I'm only a few tracks in but I'm just as blowed away as I predicted I would be... Marco Polo is a name you can count on and has been for years, if he's in the credits you can Count on his placement being one of the best tracks on the LP (one of the most telling examples is the track he laced Torae with for the latter's "For The Record"; an album that also featured contributions by DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Diamond D, 9th Wonder, Large Professor, and Nottz).

Things kick off with "3 O'Clock" and from there it just keeps booming and banging in that hardcore hip-hop direction that only true heads can enjoy - your girlfriend might very well ask you to turn off that damn RACKET!! Litteraly, there's standout after standout, both beatwise and lyrical wise - which isn't really suprising considering it features a majority of my favorite spitters of all time. There's a lot of posse cuts here which are so welcome - hearing Tragedy Khadafi, OC, Inspectah Deck, and Large Professor is sort of a dream come true. The preceding joint featuring Nature, F.T., and Big Twinz is a real Winner too, matching the aggressive Queens style of the emcees with a somewhat more soulful beat... Don't get fooled though, nothing on hhere isn't straight balls to the walls hard as far as drum programming and overall style go. I also like how there's a lot of little crazy beat interludes coming in here and there, sometimes with talk over, sometimes not. On first listen I feel that this is by far Marco's strongest album yet; "Port Authority" was a terrific record with instant classics like OC's "Marquee", Large Pro's "The Radar", Roc Marcy's "Lay It Down", G Rap's "Hood Tales" and so forth. While pretty much all the individual tracks were brilliant, I thought as an album it didn't come all the way through as it sometimes felt more like a compilation than an album, due to a lack in coherrence betweeen the songs. That problem is nowehere to be found here; the skits, the typpe of beats, the sequencing, the guests (which include everybody from Last Emperor, La Coka Nostra, MC Eiht, Breezly Brewin, Malcolm Martin, the original Year Round family with Blaq Po, H. Stax & NYGz Panchi,, etc.), and the emphasis on the DJ makes this a truly exceptional journey into beats and rhymes as they should be done. Hip-hop at it's finest in other Word. And this is just on my first listen.... Can't fucking wait to get this on vinyl and make my neighbors hate me a little more! DJ Skizz Ft. H. Stax, Big Noyd & Panchi - "Triboro Thoro"

DJ Skizz, who's a member of the World Famous "Halftime Radio Show", is releasing his debut album as a producer on June 23. Titled "B.Q.E. (Brooklyn-Queens Experience)" the LP will serve up dope platters with some of New York's finest, including legends like OC, AG, Roc Marciano, Cormega, Masta Ace, Craig G, Havoc, Psycho Les, Ill Bill, Lil' Fame, Tragedy, General Steele, Rah Digga, and FT to name a few. For the second single of the project, Skizz arranges a crazy fat trio track with underground emcees of the highest caliber; Gang Starr affiliates Hannibal Stax and Panchi (NYGz), as well as Big Noyd.

NYGz - "Last Night..."

If there is one album I've been absolutely fiending to get my hands on for no less than four years now is NYGz fully produced DJ Premier album on Year Round Records. It's quite amazing that "Hustlaz Union: Local NYGz" (which was originally announced as "Pros & Cons" and given a release date of summer 2008) still hasn't even been given a proper release date; it's not long now until it's getting "Detox" status. Whenever it do drop, I will pick it up in an instance; the duo of Shabeeno and Panchi proved to be extremely capable emcees on their 2007 release "Get Used to Us" which hit stores five years after their first 12" single on YRR, "Giantz ta This / Strength". To me they are reminiscent of more calmed out M.O.P. in a way, real New York hardcore rap at it's finest; I only hope that Preemo don't end up waiting too long with releasing this full-length which could result in much of the hype going to waste.

Every song that has been released so far is absolutely fantastic, the singles "Policy" and "Ready" stands among some of the best recent DJ Premier productions I've heard in years. Another impressive track that I've had the benefit of hearing via Live From HQ is a snippet of a funky story titled "Give it to Ya Raw". Guest features on the album will include Lil' Fame, Ice Cube, Young Maylay, G. Dep, K-Rino as well as label mate Khaleel and NYGz affilliate Rave Roulette. Production will be exclusively handled by DJ Premier, making it the first 100% Preem laced LP since 2003's "The Owner" although he of course produced 13 out of 15 songs on Blaq Poet's ultra-banging "Tha Blaqprint".

One song that will not be featured on "Hustlaz Union..."  is this track presented below called "Last Night", a freestylish track sampling the breakbeat classic "Last Night Changed it All (I Really Had A Ball)" from Esther Williams 1976 album "Let Me Show You". The New York Giantz song was premiered by DJ Premier a couple of weeks ago on Live From HQ but now a full/CD quality version has been uploaded to SoundCloud for streaming. I'm feeling this joint alot, and although countless artists has sampled the original (including De La Soul, Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemey and Prince Paul to name a few) the one this take really reminds me of is the K-Def produced Ghostface joint by the same name. I'm throwing in that as well for good measure and maybe y'all can drop a comment letting me know which version you prefer.

This song was first playe on Premier's LiveFromHQ's radio broadcast amongst with other dope Preem laced bangers showing he's still going strong. I actually seen this song catching flack over @ varius hip-hop forums and blogs but personally I always felt it was a banging record. The song is taken from the Year Round Records compilation "Get Used to Us" which features 16 previously unreleased DJ Premier bangers mainly showcasing his YRR roundsters with some additional guests.

The LP has gone through several difficulties getting it out there to the public; I was really hopping for an actual physical release - CD or wax doesn't matter because I'm supporting this either way. At least 85% of the songs are bangers if you ask me and although Javas cought some flacks for his unique rhyme patterns I think the kid got charisma, funny punchlines and overall quite a dope MC. Add some hot DJ Premier beats to Javas rhyming and, imo, he works perfectly in that context to me. Hopefuly we'll see "Get Used to Us" in a store near me and you soon because I'm definitely picking this up. 

For me this Showbiz produced baner always stood out and Khaleel and Panchi are definitely doing their thing over a rock-solid Showbiz production. TURN IT UP!!
