GANGRENE - "Play It Cool"

Alchemist and Oh No's "Play it Cool" is a collaboration with Earl Sweatshirt and Samuel T. Harring. and is the first single from Gangrene's upcoming LP "Welcome to Los Santos". The GTA V affiliated soundtrack will be released on CD, digital and vinyl as a joint venture between Mass Appeal Records and Rockstar Games on April 21. A week before that fans will be able to hear much of the new music within the game which drops April 14. Sounds pretty damn cool:

"Welcome to Los Santos features fresh tracks inspired by the series first original score, composed by The Alchemist and Oh No in partnership with Woody Jackson and Tangerine Dream, to create a uniquely ambitious album. Featuring guests from across the musical spectrum including Earl Sweatshirt, Little Dragon, Phantogram, Freddie Gibbs, Killer Mike, Tunde Adebimpe (of TV on The Radio), and Samuel Tö Herring (fom Future Islands), The Alchemist and Oh No weave together a musical journey that covers every corner of the fictional world of Grand Theft Auto V".

FREDDIE GIBBS / MADLIB - "Robes" (Ft. Earl Sweatshirt & Domo)

Although only a radio rip as of now, the release of Freddie Gibbs & Madlib's eight official collaboration leading up to the much-anticipated "Cocaine Pinata" has now landed, and is another strong cut proving their incredible chemistry together. A new leak is fitting as the album has now been given an official release date of March 18 and will be delivered by Madlib Invazion. "Roses" was recently premiered on the Benji B's show on UK channel BBC Radio 1. This is another fine cut, and my high hopes for this album is as strong as ever or as Gibbs describes it "a Gangster blaxploatiation film on wax". We still wait for the CDQ, not to mention the full album, but what the hell - TURN IT UP!!

[Mixtape] FLYING LOTUS - "Ideas + Drafts + Loops"

The extremely interesting musician Flying Lotus took to Twitter today to bless his fans with a free 24 track mixtape entitled "Ideas + Drafts + Loops". The cuts included on the "tape" includes outtakes from Lotus productions and remixes for himsellf, Captain Murphy, Shabazz Palaces, Thundercat, Kanye West, Earl Sweatshirt, and more. Flying Lotus have always defied labeling, and when he's at his best (like on "Until the Quiet Comes") he's one of the most interesting artists we have got today. Not all of his music hits home, but whatever he does his music is always interesting. Check out the "Black Skinhead" remix featuring Thundercat  below and download "Ideas + Drafts + Loop" (320 kbps) below - Enjoy!

BOLDY JAMES x ALCHEMIST - "Reform School"

I don't know how the hell I could've missed that Detroit emcee Boldy James have teamed up with producer The Alchemist for a full-length project! The two first collaborated on "The Kosmos Pt. 2: Power Glove", one of the many standouts from last years "Russian Roulette". Consisting of 13 tracks, the Decon release boost features from Freeway, Action Bronson, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis and King Chip. "M.1.C.S. (My 1st Chemistry Set)" hit stores October 15; at least on CD (pre-order), I can't find any info on vinyl as of yet. Check out the posse track with Earl, Domo and Da$h, "Reform School", as well as the previously released single "Moochie". This shit goes HARD, defo checking for this drop!

Captain Murphy x Earl Sweatshirt x DOOM x Thundercat

I really enjoyed Flying Lotus' left-field, psychadelic and experimental "Duality" album under the rapping alter-ego Captain Murphy last year and if you too dug that, the latest installment in the Adult Swim singles 2013 will satisfy you in much the same way. Especially since it features MF DOOM in his Viktor Vaughn persona, the single talented cat from the Odd Future collective, plus frequent Lotus collaborator Thundercat who adds some real nice bass lines to the haunting piano keys and overall dark mood of the track. Titled "Between Villains", the single is a sequel/remix to the Captain's previous collaboration with Earl Sweatshirt called "Between Friends". For some reason I can't seem to embed the Soundcloud link, or even find it once I click on it, so I'll link you over to Okayplayer below til' I'm able to fix that! Link borrowed from EarMilk, much thanks guys!
