[EP] OMNISCENCE - "Sharp Objects"

Earlier this year, the underrated emcee Omniscence hooked up with producer Debonair P and delivered the blazing hot 12" single "Raw Factor". Now this potent duo delivers a set of 5 brand new cuts combined with an equal amount of exclusive remixes on the EP "Sharp Objects". Guest features come from K-Hill, Paul Bunyan and Keisha Shontelle, with all the music constructed by Debonair P. Of course, Omniscence is no newbie to the hip-hop scene as he was the man behind underground classics like "Amazin", "Touch Y'all" and the aborted "The Raw Factor" LP on Elektra. It's great to see him back on his game, and with a banging release like this the future is definitely looking bright for this skilled North Carolina spitter. Grab the project on CD, wax or in digital format @ Omni's Bandcamp.

[Album] HIEROGLYPHICS - "The Kitchen"

The Hieroglyphics is back with a new LP, titled "The Kitchen". The legendary Oakland team's first collective project in over 10 years doesn't entirely consist of new material though - some of the tracks found here have previously been released on various solo projects by the members. Most of the material is previously unreleased and newly recorded however, and created in collaboration with the Sacramento based DJ-crew The Sleeprockers. The entire album is streaming over @ Spin (see link below), but if you want to support you can cop a digital copy from iTunes. Hit play for some of that smooth Hiero ish!

“This record is a fun release, an audio collage. Not much has changed with Hiero." - Casual

SOUNDSCI's "Soundsational" Out Now!

Since they hit the scene with the "Dig For Victory" EP in 2009, the Soundsci crew have kept reminding us why we fell in love with hip-hop with a handful of fantastic releases. The latest installment in the Soundsci saga is their first release on Ubiquity Records, the 10 track mini LP "Soundsational", which started to ship on both vinyl and CD today. As expected, it's another breath of fresh air for boom bap fanatics that like their music stripped down and funky, focusing on fat beats and sharp rhymes. You can take a listen to the entire project below via a free stream from Bandcamp, but this is definitely one for the collection... Click here to support!

[Video] BIG TWINS x PRODIGAL SUNN - "Block Holiday"

Turns out that Infamous Mobb's Big Twins and Sunz Of Man's Prodigal Sunn have gone together and formed the duo Infamous Sunn. I'm a fan of both these guys so I'm eager to see what they got in store for us, and the first single "Block Holiday" is already promising great things.

[Album] KA - "The Night's Gambit"

KA has been releasing a steady stream of dope music for the past few years, and with his third official solo album he doesn't stray from the path. Like its most immediate predecessor, 2012's superb "Grief Pedigree", "The Night's Gambit" sees KA spitting raw, honest lyrics over dark, and foreboding beats as he works double shifts as both emcee and producer on all tracks. The album is not yet available worldwide on physical copies, though KA himself sold vinyl and CD pressings outside the former Fat Beats shop in Manhattan this past weekend. However, the entirety of the project can now be streamed via NPR and you can also show your support through an iTunes purchase. While you're at it, make sure to check out the new video for "Off The Record" too.

Pharoahe Monch - "Stand Your Ground"

Following the not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial, Pharoahe Monch encourages the people to involve themeselves with the single "Stand Your Ground". Produced by long time collaborator Lee Stone, this song was originally recorded for Monch's forthcoming LP "PTSD" but is given an early release due to the depressing circumstances. Click here to check out the lyrics.

[EP] ALCHEMIST x SSUR

Similiar to the "Yacht Rock" EP last year, Alchemist has just released a 3-track EP in celebration of the release of his collaboration with SSUR snapbacks. All three tracks boosts powerful production and features a shitload of dope emcees, including Evidence, Freddie Gibbs, Action Bronson, Roc Marciano, Blu, Meyhem Lauren, and Despot. Check out all three tracks below, or click here.

Blame One & J57 - "B.L.A.M.E.57"

Brown Bag Allstar producer J57 and Dirty Science emcee link up for "B.L.A.M.E. 57", the second single (following "They Don't Know") off their upcoming collaboration LP "Walk in the Sun" which is out on Soulspazm Records on August 27. Hit play below and get ready for a lyrical exercise over real thumping beats with DJ Rhettmatic tearing up the turntables for the second time of the day. This album's looking real nice right now, you can pre-order and check out the tracklist @ iTunes.

GURU - "Now Eye See"

Strangely I haven't seen this track posted on any of the bigger hip-hop sites which is a shame since previously unreleased material from an emcee of GURU's stature should be appreciated no matter who produced it. It's a strong verse from Elam, though I suggest you turn the volume down after it @ 1:16!
