[Mini Album] CURREN$Y & ALCHEMIST - "The Carrolton Heist"

Back in 2011 super producer and Lost Tapes favorite Alchemist produced a free 10 tracks album for New Orlenas, Louisana emcee Curren$y. The resulting "Covert Coup" was a testament to both artissts strengths and was unbelivably dope considering it was released as a free project despite being better than most retail LP:s in 2011. "The Carollton Heist" pick up where the last album/mixtape left off with 10 brand new tracks in high quality, full lentgth, and without any DJ shouts or transitions. Alchemist hasn't produced as much as he did between 2011 and 2013 so it's good to see him back in business and still delivering BANGERS. Check out his original take on the tried and tested soul sample on "The Mack Back" which also lets Curren$y shine telling a biographical story of a rising mack; "93 AMG" is a perfect marriage of a dope emcee and a superb producer, as ALC's low key proudction allows Curren$y to dish out an outstanding verse on the true hardships of life; the final joint is a smooth and beautiful joint with a prominent horn hook running throughout as Curren$u spit more biographical ish about his career and life.Very pleasant closing to a very pleasant album that is pure Hip Hop and comes strongly recommend.

We can go track for track because this is fucking brilliant and is good proof that the one MC/one DJ is still a great idea as long as the duo have such chemistry as displayed here. The guest emcees are kept to a minimum with Lil' Wayne, Styles P and Action Bronson who all make interesting contributions to the proceedings.Download for free or stream via DatPiff and do the same for "Convert Coup" in case you somehow missed the excellence of that project when it dropped.

[Stream] GANGRENE - "You Disgust Me"

Alchemist and Oh No is back together again for another serving of that nasty ass Gangrene shit. These two legendary producers and ocassional spitters really bring the heat on their third full length which they have given the fitting title "You Disgust Me". While Oh No is pretty cool on the mic, ALC is not very interesting but it really doesn't matter since the guys have a sick rapport with each other and it's all about the production and overall atmosphere on these Gangrene discs. Heavy on bass, distorted jazz samples, turntable attacks and vocal clips about floating feces, fans of "Gutter Water" and "Vodka & Ayahuasca" will definitely not be let down... Guest spitters include usual suspects like Fashawn, Your Old Droog, Action Bronson, Evidence, Havoc and Sean Price. "You Disgust Me" hit stores this coming Friday (order it @ UGHH), but already know you can stream the entire project below. TURN IT UP!

[Album] ALCHEMIST x OH NO - "Welcome To Los Santos"

The Grand Theft Auto series has always prouded themeselves on excellent soundtracks to accompany the gaming experience. For GTA V, which drops tomorrow for PC, they are taking it one step further as the Gangrene brothers Oh No and Alchemist has been left fully in charge to produce the original soundtrack. The game has been out on various consoles since 2013 which has allowed ALC and Oh to really soak in the atmosphere of the adventure that is "GTA V - Welcome to Los Santos". The fourteen tracks deep album features new music by Freddie Gibbs, Action Bronson, MC Eiht, Danny Brown, Killer Mike, AB-Soul, Curren$y, Kokane, and many more. But don't expect a straight up hip-hop album, as the two Ayahuasca loving producers draws inspiration from a wide range of different styles and sounds to create something totally unique. It's definitely a dope listen though, so don't sleep on this one! You can stream the entire album via the YouTube playlist up top and NPR or purchase the digital download from iTunes if you want to pay your dues.

MEYHEM LAUREN & BUCKWILD - "100 MPH" (Ft. Action Bronson)

Hell yeah, this one deserves a video like hell. The opening track to Meyhem Lauren and Buckwild's absolutely slamming joint LP "Silk Pyramids" which made my top 10 of last years best album (the full list will be published tomorrow with all reviews). Of course also features Action Bronson, and an absolute monster performance from both Buckwild and Meyhem who properly sets the tone for the outstanding LP.

[Album] MEYHEM LAUREN / BUCKWILD - "Silk Pyramids"

Meyhem Lauren carries on the tradition of well-crafted street lyricism from Queens, NY on his finest project to date, "Silk Pyramids", entirely produced by fellow New Yorker and hip-hop veteran Buckwild. I've been eagerly anticipating this release and now when it finally is here I can only say that it doesn't dissapoint one bit - in fact, it's probably even better than I had dared hope for with both turning in A+ performances. Everything is just RIGHT about this album, making it one of the few must-haves of 2014 so far... Order your copy @ UGHH (US) or HHV (EU) and PLAY THIS SHIT LOUD!!!!!

STEP BROTHERS Ft. Action Bronson - "Mum's in the Garage"

The Step Brothers of Alan The Chemist and Dilated People's top lyricist is very likely my most anticipated album to drop in the first couple of months of '14. "Mum's in the Garage" is a straight up, powerhouse performance from the duo and Action Bronson both in its slightly psychadelic production, shaking bass lines, and tight drums and the vocals. "Lord Steppington" is finally hitting stores on January 21 via Rhymesayers, so you know what you gonna do my friends - and yes, the boys know how to do it (as in coloured 2xLP set, CD, and digital). Much thanks to Noisey for the premier.

[Mixtape] ALCHEMIST - "The Cutting Room Floor 3"

No matter how much The Alchemist we've gotten over the last couple of years, we just can't get enough. Recently he produced the entirety of Boldy James "My 1st Chemistry Set" and early next year he and Evidence will release "Lord Steppington" as Step Brothers, but as all play and no work makes Al a dull boy we are treated to "The Cutting Room Floor 3" in between. Those familiar with Alchemist knows that "The Cutting Room Floor" is a series of mixtapes (the first released in 2003; the second in 2008) featuring unreleased goodies, demos, alternative takes, instrumentals and weed smelling interludes. The third installment is truly done in a classic mixtape fashion with snippets of songs bleeding into each other, and featuring both previously unreleased old stuff, new cuts, fresh beats, and a few songs that have been out a few years; all produced and mixed together by DJ Alchemist. With verses from Nas, Raekwon, Havoc, Kool G Rap, Blu, Mobb Deep, Large Pro, 50 Cent, Evidence and Gangrene over a stupid fresh batch of ALC bangers, this 20 track set is an absolute joy to listen to, even despite the fact that it has Rick Ross on it. The deluxe edition features an additional six joints which includes new music by Roc Marciano/Action Bronson, Fashawn and Styles P. Aside from Bronson and Marciano's "Pool Hall Hustler" I feel the tape flows much better with just the original 20 tracks however.

If you happen to have a Spotify account you can stream the entire thing over there, otherwise the digital mixtape is of course available to buy from Amazon or iTunes. However you go about it, make sure you hear it!

ROC MARCIANO Ft. Action Bronson - "456"

Perhaps a nod to Kool G Rap's classic '95 debut, the first official single from Roc Marciano's long awaited "Marci Beaucoup" is called "456". While "Marcberg" and "Preloaded" featured an extremely dark and sinister sound, this single follows more in the soulful formula of what Roc presented on his recent pre-tape "The Pimpire Strikes Back". The song features Action Bronson doing his thing, and it's without a doubt one that whet your appetite for the full album which in fact is out NOW! The 15 track project can be bought in digital format via iTunes, but if you're like me you'd want the psycical copy which hit stores next Tuesday (CD only for now, let's hope Man Bites Dog Records come to their senses and drop an LP set of this gem).

[Album] ACTION BRONSON / PARTY SUPPLIES - "Blue Chips 2"

Action Bronson joined up with producer Party Supplies, a producer then unknown to me, back in 2012 for their free "street" album "Blue Chips". The project was a definite success that displayed an intense chemistry between the production/MC duo that stood out as a worthy rival of Bronson's work with Alchemist the same year. Now the team is back at it again, releasing the sequel "Blue Chips 2", which is once again a free release via LiveMixtapes.com. With all the dope music Action has been releasing for free the last couple of years, any real fan of his music should be ashamed of themeselves if they do not support the man by purchasing his next retail album... But until then, enjoy this slamming release of hot, soul infected beats and tight Bronson rhymes that switches between the absolute hilarious, to the "Oh Shit" lines to some ill storytelling, etc. ENJOY!!!

Alchemist - "Diagnosis"

Coinciding with the new Coca Cola inspired clothing line by Dr. Romanelli, ALC has concocted this amazing 8 track psychadelic "commercial". Running for 8 minutes, The Chemist runs through several beats, including some straight up fantastic ones; even including a short section featuring Action Bronson doing what he does best. Much of the music found here are reimagined versions of classic Coca Cola ads, and as we know Alchemist is often best when he flips real obscure shit (see "Russian Roulette" for a great, recent example).

"Grand Theft Auto V" OST

With the release of the new installment of the "Grand Theft Auto" series, DJ Cash and DJ Whoo Kid has assembled a fittingly rough soundtrack of exclusives. Two notable features for Lost Tapes readers comes from  ALC & Oh No teaming up again as Gangrene for "Bassheads", another sure shot banger from Fredro Starr and Audible Doctor called "Everyday Hell" ... Other notable material comes from Cormega / Necro / Lil' Fame (real fat track produced by DJ Skizz), Wais P / Kool G Rap, and Action Bronson so there should be a lot of good shit on this tape, grab it below!

Meyhem Lauren Ft. AG Da Coroner & Action Bronson - "Drug Lords"

Three of the flyest emcees to emerge on the scene during the last few years come together for the video shoot of "Drug Lords". You should recognize the song from Meyhem Lauren's "Respect The Fly Shit" that dropped as a free download a while back. Harry Fraud on the beat, sure sounds complete...

Alchemist x Willie The Kid - "Masterpiece Theater"

Just a coupe of posts below this one I gave The Alchemist major props on the huge amount of Extened Plays and full-length LP's he's been blessing the public with as of late. Given that Alan sometimes end up giving some of his finest beats to rather wack rappers like Domo Genesis, it's a definite treat that his latest project is the anticipated collaboration with underrated vocalist Willie The Kid. The two earlier teasers, "Medusa" and "Halal Tuna" promised great things, and the aditional five cuts neither dissapoints or should make you think twice to pull up your wallet and purchase the full EP direct from the artists (link below the tracklist)..

01. "Opening Credits"
02. "Shake Dice"
03. "Halal Tuna"
04. "Bad Mistake" (Ft. Alchemist)
05. "Medua" (Ft. Roc Marciano & Action Bronson)
06. "Gettysburg"
07. "Let The Money Stay"

Similiar to the "Yacht Rock" EP last year, Alchemist has just released a 3-track EP in celebration of the release of his collaboration with SSUR snapbacks. All three tracks boosts powerful production and features a shitload of dope emcees, including Evidence, Freddie Gibbs, Action Bronson, Roc Marciano, Blu, Meyhem Lauren, and Despot. Check out all three tracks below, or click here.

[EP] Action Bronson - "Saab Stories"

Queen's spitter Action Bronson has taken the hip-hop world by storm since he first seriously appeared on the scene with a steady slew of quality mixtapes, EP:s, albums, and guest apperances. Following his absolutely superb free LP with The Alchemist, "Rare Chandeliers", is another producer driven project; and another quality one at that. For "Saab Stories" (just look at that HILARIOUS cover) Bronson hooks up with talented beatsmith Harry Fraud for the seven track project which features the banging single "Seven Series Triplets" with Prodigy and Raekwon, alongside with cameos by Whiz Khalifa and Big Body Bess. If you got Spotify, you can stream the entire project below, and either way you should throw up the $6 it cost to purchase the project @ iTunes.

Tony Touch Ft. Action Bronson & Kool G Rap - "It's A Queen's Thing"

Last week we heard the Wu-Tang Clan single "Unorthox", the first single from DJ Tony Touch third installment in his superb "The Piece Maker" series. The third volume also carries the undertitle "The Return Of The 50 MC's"; which of course is a play on Touch's classic '97 mixtape "Power Cypha: 50 MC's". "It's A Queens Thing" is my personal favorite of the two singles so far, and features powerful performances by Kool G Rap and Action Bronson rippinng this real gripping beat straight to shreds. It's one of them joints that's both hardboiled and hauntingly beautiful at the same time, and everything about it just connects. Press play below and bang your head... (if the embeded link does not work, click here)

Action Bronson Ft. LL Cool J & Lloyd Banks - "Strictly 4 My Jeeps" Remix

The original version of the "Strictly For My Jeep" single is a real thumping, agressive knocking track mixed with with a mesmerizing symphonic orchestra. For this new remix Chef Bronson enlist three Queens spitters, all representing a different era in hip-hop, and the result is pretty damn marvellous. Especially great to hear LL tearing it up over a hard beat like this, once again proving he' still got it though he definitely needs his ear for beats his fanbase want to hear thoroughly checked.

Czarface Ft. Action Bronson - "Cardi Gras (It's Raw Again)"

It's Wu day here at The Lost Tapes, a few of the days tracks have been old, some new, somé pretty´neat and some slamming. Next up is "Cardi Gras (It's Raw Again)" by Czarface. Íf you don't know Czarface, they are of course the trio consisting of Inspectah Deck with 7L & Esoteric that dropped their solid self-titled debut back in February. Now the trio has released a 7" single to accompany the release; featuring the sequel to the 7L produced Action Bronson collabo, "Czardi Gras (It's Raw Again)" (including the instrumental) and a freestyle promo at the Wake Up Show on the flip. You can peep the "Czardi Gras" joint below, and pick up the record for yourself @ UGHH. Peace to Malakaz!

[Mixtape] PETER ROSENBERG x ECKO UNLIMITED Presents "New York Renaissance"

Peter Rosenberg knows good music and how to put a dope mixtape, that has been proven time and time again. His latest endeavor is in collaboration with Ecko Unltd called "The New York Renaissance", featuring some of the finest hip-hop artists that New York currently got to offer; you'll see names like Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, A$AP Rocky, Flatbush Zombies, Homeboy Sandman, and more, with production from cats such as Oddisee, Harry Fraud, and Dante Ross to name the more interesting. Check it out, there's definitely a bunch of bangers on here, though it's not, at least for me, the best front-to-back listen. Peep it below via DatPiff.

[Video] Kyle Rapps x Action Bronson - "Get It In"

Harlem and Queens connect on the first single "Get It In" from Kyle Rapps' upcoming mixtape "SUB" which will hit the net this spring. The video which is directed by Robbie Barclay is absolutely hilarious and will guarantee at least a few laughs while you nod your head to this banger.
