Two of the best from the West will join forces for a collaborative project titled "This Generation", set for a September 25. Completely produced by Beatnick & K-Salaam and released via Duck Down, there's a lot pointing towards this being a superb album. I love both of these guy's music, though I must say that neither has managed to impress me that much with their respective recent releases. I have a great feeling about this one however!

[Mixtape] Mikkey Halsted - "Castro"

Chicago's Mikkey Halsted unleashes his latest project in the form of a free mixtape, hosted by Don Cannon. The latter also supplies the majority of the beats, together with No I.D., and Pusha T pops up for a guest verse. With all full songs, and all original vocals/production, this is pretty much an actual album. And its a real dope listen at that, so make sure to peep it!

One of the illest cuts from the latest Jay Dee project, "Rebirth Of Detroit", gets the visual treatment courtesy of Official JDilla.com. Tone Plummer and Mr. Wong on the microphone; DJ Butter on the wheels of steel. Question - Is Tone Plummer the same as Big Tone who Dilla worked with for the "Party Crasher" 12"?

Beedie - "Robert Marley" [prod. by Buckwild]

Buckwild laces some real heat for Pittsburgh rapper Beedie on his latest single, titled "Robert Marley".

JJ DOOM: A Recap

MF DOOM is easily one of the most creative producers AND emcees in the game, with classic releases like "MM... Foood", "Operation Doomsday", "Vauderville Villain", amazing outside productions and so much more. Most recently we heard the one and only MF DOOM producing the entirety of the always incedible Masta Ace; resulting in "MA DOOM: Son Of Yvette". A dope album by all means, but still slightly dissapointed considering how Ace decided to use all beats previouly released on the "Special Herbz" box set, and by extension other previous DOOM project. What most of us really are waiting for however is the almost mythical meeting with Ghostface Killah on their constantly postponed "Swift & Changeable"on Nature Sounds.

However, the Metal Face is still going strong and gearing up for new projecs, and just as befoe he seems as striving to not be pigeonholded within a genre. The first official project since 2009:s underrated "Born Like This" is a full-length collaboative LP with alternative rapper and producer Jneiro Janel (also known as Dr. Who Dat?). Using the logical moniker of JJ DOOM, the album is titled "Keys to the Kuffs" and is set fo an August 20 release on Lex Records. Cameos on the project comes from Khujo Goodie, Damon Alban and Beth Gibbson with all production coming from Janel and all vocals provided by The Illest Villain. So far two tracks from the album has been released, as well as two remixes of songs that will appear on the retail; the Radiohead version of "Retarded Fren"  and the Dave Sitek remix of "Rhymin' Slang" . If you missed anything, here they all are in steamable format. It's actually sounding very promising to me, and DOOM is rhyming his ass off as expected.

Nutso x Shabaam Sahdeeq x Royal Flush - "Blowing Up"

Queen's rhymer Nutso constantly drops hot shit, and he is now peparing another EP titled "Behind Bars" which should be out soon. The first leak from the project is sounding promising as hell; "Blowing Up" features fellow N.Y.C. legends Shabaam Sahdrrw and Royal Flush. Production is handled by Mac who I am totally new to, but he does a fine job providing the heat, and the turntables ishandled by Chinch33.

[ALBUM] Focus.. - "Focal Point: 1172"

Original Aftermath in-house producer Focus.. always delivers some interesting stuff whether it be his own solo material, production for other artists, or celebration of the beatmakers that came before. Featuring 10 strong self-produced tracks, he is now giving fans the opportunity to stream his latest project "Focal Point: 1172" in it's entirety, with a download available via iTunes. Soulful and knocking production, with cameos from Slum Village, Rapper Big Pooh and J. Pinder, there's definitely some nice tracks to be heard here.

FOCUS - "FOCAL POINT: 1172" [STREAM]

DJ Khaled Ft. Nas, Scarface & DJ Premier - "Hip Hop"

I never been a fan of Khaled, but this line-up is too sick to sleep on; any song with both Scarface and Nas on it warrants a listen and a post. The result is real dope too, with DJ Premier tearing it up on the decks and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League supplying the rhythm and melody.

AWAR - "Never Break Me" (Ft. Evidence)

I'm rather new to the music of AWAR and don't know much about him, but the album he released last week ("The Laws of Nature") is straight fire and strongly recommended. Produced by Alchemist, Sid Roams, Jake One, Nottz and M-Phazes I think it's quite clear you want to check this out for yourself. 

I originally posted a download of one of the choice cuts from the LP in form of the album closer, "Cut Throat Rap" featuring the always stellar Roc Marciano and Grafh, with ALC delivering thr music.
