[Official Video} AMP LIVE - "Wheel Of Fortune"

AMP Live is the new project by rhyme monster Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and Amp Live who is the official producer of legendary underground West Coast crew Zion I. He hasn't really been known to venture to far awayh from his Zion I brethren previously, but he has laced tracks for Goapele, The Grouch & Eligh and Latryx and dropped a couple of EP:s by himself. Del on the other hand, has pretty much collaborated with everyone and their mama. This is a win/win situation and when it drops the Hip Hop world might stop for a good 30 minutes.

The "Wheels Of Fortune" video above is both fun and dope (a breath of fraish air in today hip hop's climte to say the least). "Gate 13" as it's called drop on April 20 so stay tuned for at least one more single before the album dops. Taking it back to the old school with this one!

DELTRON 3030 - "Melding Of The Minds" [A-Plus Remix]

While Deltron 3030's second album "Event II" seemed to kind of come and go rather quitely, I thought it was a tight album that offered a lot of strong beats and performances from Del. Therefore it's a good thing to remind folks of that LP by this crazy remix of the Zack De La Rocha collaboration "Melding Of The Minds" by Hiero/Souls producer A-Plus. This is in fact more than a simple remix as A-Plus introduces a new style for each verse going from boom bap to hyphy. Read all about it here.

SLIMKID3 & DJ NU-MARK - "Bouillon" (Ft. Del & Murs)

DJ Nu-Mark's amazing "Broken Sunlight" single series and following album was one of the highlights of 2013 so the news that the super talented DJ/producer is joining forces with former Pharcyde alumi SlimKid3 for a full-length LP brought a big smile to my face. The album will be out this summer via Delicious Vinyl and seems to be self-titled and just like with the aforementioned Nu-Mark project, the album will first be broken down into a gang of beautifully designed and collectable 7" singles before the main event hit stores. This is definitely something you want to keep your eyes on, and don't just take my word for it - listen to the lead single "Bouillon" where the duo teams up with fellow West Coast legends Del and Murs for a real heavy hitter. TURN IT UP!!

[Album] DEL THE FUNKEE HOMOSAPIEN - "Iller Than Most"

When Hiero's finest Del Tha Funkee Homosapien drops a new album, you can count that the vast majority of the music on there will be pretty fucking amazing; from his early albums like "I Wish My Brother Were Here" (1991) to the new Deltron collaboration "Event II" (2013) the Oakland emcee always got some interesting things to bring to the table - whether it's lyrically, concept wise or musically; usually it's all of those things combined. Another dope thing is that his projects often seem to pop out of nowhere, which makes them even more welcome, and such is the case with Del's first present to all his fans in the new year. A free digital LP entitled "Iller Than Most" which the versatile cousin of Ice Cube describes as follows:

"This [is] a new FREE LP that is futuristic and fun — but still on some Hip-Hop shit. Lyrically ill but fun to listen to, nothing super heavy. I did the production on it as well. Hope y’all enjoy it, peace."

I haven't been able to listen to the LP in full yet, but from the few tracks I have heard so far it does not dissapoint at all. There's really not much info to go on, like why it says the album is called Zartan Dreadnaught COBRRA (or is this the artist? As in an alias) to who produced it. KOOL AD / DEL FUNKEE HOMOSAPIEN / LADYBUG MECCA + KOOL NO / OH NO

Kool A.D., one third of the experimental NYC hip-hop trio Das Racist, is preparing a new album entitled "Word O.K.", during the process of putting it together a lot of tracks didn't make the final cut. In light of that Kool A.D. is releasing an additional mixtape/album called "Not O.K." via his official Bandcamp. Producers and guests include Thelonious Martin, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Ladybug Mecca, DJ AV, Oh No and more. I haven't listened to the entire album as Das Racist never really been my cup of absinthe, I am posting the Oh No and Del/Ladybug Mecca tracks respectively below.

 

[Album Stream] DELTRON 3030 - "Event II"

In early 1999, super MC Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, super producer Dan The Automator and turntable genius Kid Koala joined forces and became Deltron, releasing a self-titled album which is rightfully often considered a true Classic. Ever since fans have been craving new official material from the unit. Their first album was a work of true genius so there's no suprise that their second effort, which comes almost 15 years after their debut, does not live up to the incredible standard of their debut album but it's still nice to hear the Deltron collective back at it again.

 

The Bulk Recordings album officially drops this coming Tueday, but Pitchfork has got the rights to put up the entire project for free streaming a week early, so what are you waiting for!?

If you're not to up on what the legendary trio of the spaced out hip-hop monster that is Deltron 30300 has been doing since their comeback over the last couple of years, or at least since they come back a couple of years back with a few scattered singles here and there. The 3030 1999 debut was a hip-hop album way ahead it's time - oth as far as production, samples and lyrics and flow goes, and all the recent leaks without a doubt is preparing to get us extremely heavy follow up to their one and only '99 self-titled debut as a unit that still stands as one of the finest concept albums of all time. With Del on fururistic, science fiction inspired vocals. producer Dan the Automator and the latter's extremely tight record telekenis with the mind boggling DJ Kid Koala, the crew is in full effect and most of the singles have been really Fan-Tas-Tic so far. Just check the latest single, which is said to be the lead single of from the project, "City Rising From the Ashes". The album, "Event II" as it is subtitled, is said to pick up right where the original left off - with that being said, I can't wait to see what this is all about, both the film, soundtrack, and more. Deltron 3030 - "Pay The Price"

Heads have been waiting for years and years again for new music from Deltron 3030, the super group consisting of The Automator, Kid Koala and of course Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, since they gave us their classic debut in 1999. Now things is finally starting to happening. Last year they contributed "The Agony" to the "Rock The Bells" mixtape, and today the first official single in more than a decade has been made available for streaming through Facebook; "Pay the Price"!

[VIDEO] Casual x J Rawls - "Respect Game..."

Not too long ago Hieroglyphics rhyme maesro Casual and impeccanle beat maker J-Rawl's announced their collaborative full-length album "Respect Game Or Expect Flames" for immediate release last week. It is now out, and I've been spinning the album front-to-back a couple of times, and it's no doubt that it's a solid project. One of my favorite joints from the album is the title track, featuring Del tha Funkee Homosapien, who I posted the single for recenly. Here's the video too so enjoy!!

Casual x J Rawls - "Respect Game or Expect Flames"

Hieroglyphics' emcee Casual and DJ/producer J Rawls is teaming up on "Respect Game Or Expect Flames" for release via Nature Sounds next week. The leaks so far has all been solid but they have saved the best for last, as the title tracks featuring Del Tha Funkee Homosapien really knocks competition out the box. You can order the CD directly from Nature Sounds who already started shipping; vinyl heads will get their dose on September 25. Also worth peeping is J Rawls slamming Hieroglyphics mix which you can download/stream here.

[Tracklist/Cover] Del & Paralell Thought LP

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien is keeping busy this year which is always a great thing considering how great he has remained throughout all the years. Only a couple of days back I posted his free mixtape "W.C.A.: Limited II Fela" which really impressed me and left me fiending for more. Good news is that we don't have to wait very long as Del is once again teaming up with East Coast production crew Paralell Thought for the full-length LP "Attractive Sin". This group of producers have previously laced albums for C-Rayz Walz and Tame One amongst others but most importantly in 2009 they fully produced Del Tha Funkee Homosapien's collaboration with Tame One entitled "Parallel Uni-Verses". That album is something I'd like to recommend to anyone who might've missed it. "Attractive Sin" will hit stores on June 19.

[Mixtape] Del Tha Funky Homosapien - WCA

Hiero's Del Tha Funky Homosapien never backs down when it comes to making some creative and worthwhile shit. While we're waiting for the West Coast emcees next official album we can already now enjoy the second installment in his "West Coast Avengers" mixtape series. This eleven tracks joint bears the title "WCA: Limited II Fela" and is not suprisingly a tribute to the one and only Afro Beat pioneer and legend Fela Kuti featuring a legion of classic samples from the amazing artists vast catalouge. This should be good so don't sleep!
