[DOCUMENTARY] TRAGEDY - "The Story Of Queensbridgde"

For my two first posts of 2015, as well as taking this time to wish all of my readers a terrific new year ahead of us all, you know I had to come with the big guns. First out is something that many of y'all have probably seen before although i know me myself has been looking for the full version of this for a long ass time, since the versions I constantly found always cut off after 68 minutes or something like that and had French subtitles. I'm talking about the excellent Brook Simms 2005 documentary on Tragedy Khadafi, who you should know by now is one of my all time favorites, "Tragedy: The Story of Queensbridge". YouTube user Hallvard Fauske Ekdahl has uploaded the, in my opinion, ever made on Queensbridge hip-hop as Tragedy pretty much inspired the major players of QB, from the Juice Crew, to Nas, to CNN, to Mobb Deep, to Cormega, Killa Sha, and so on. The narrative takes us through Trag's young days working as The Super Kids with DJ Hot Day, as the solo artist Intelligent Hoodlum, with the major underrated classics "Intelligent Hoodlum" and "Saga of a Hoodlum" under his belt, to his work with Capone-N-Noreaga creating "The War Report" and his long running solo career as Tragedy Khadafi, and much more. KILLA SHA - "My Enviroment" [prod. by JuJu]

The tragic death of Killa Sha was a great loss for QB's music scene and hip-hop in general; having only released one official solo album (the highly inredible "God Walk On Water" in early 2007), he was working on several new musical projects at the time of his death. The most ambitious of this is his "The Shepherd" album which will feature a lot of production from Large Professor, Beatnuts, Audible Doctor and many more with the LP being treated with the fullest respect by executive producers Tragedy Khadafi, Large Pro, and Gustavo Guerra. Originally set for a January 2014 release, it has obviously been pushed back but with the second single here i have a feeling we won't have to wait much longer. Just like the first single, the Audible Doctor laced banging remix of "Cash". For the second single which is titled "My Enviroment" Killa Sha enlisted JuJu of The Beatnuts for an absolutely marvellous cut - listening to the song and the chemistry displayed here it's obvious that this is not a cut-and-paste job but an organic recording session. KILLA SHA - "Cash" [Audible Doctor Remix]

I forgot to post this yesterday, but hearing the late great QB spitter Killa Sha over some banging soulful Audible Doctor music is something you just can't miss out on. Especially as it's the first official leak from the long awaited Killa Sha drop "The Grand Shepard" which is the posthumously completed album Killa Sha was working on when he passed. Sounding real ill and with the time and love that's been put into this project you know it's gonna be one to look out for and support.
