[EP] AUDIBLE DOCTOR - "Can't Keep The People Waiting"

If you ask me I'd be quick to say that The Audible Doctor is one of the absolutely most interesting young producers  out right now. He got a sound of his own, without ever letting the hip-hop purists down, which is a feat in itself. And on top of that he's slowly but surely building up a pretty damn impressive catalouge, both as a solo artist and through albums with legends like Onyx's Fredro Starr. With each release he has really grown on the microphone as well and it has been a blessing following his career.

His latest release is called "Can't Keep The People Waiting" and was first released a couple of months ago as a diigital download only. Produced entirely by Audible Doctor, the records which switches betweem agressive synths, knockout drum programming, longing vocal samples and smoother songs which together gives the project a very nice balance, is now finally being rleeased on vinyl. You can purchase the lmited vinyl right now @ Fat Beats, but once they are out they are gone. so HURRY UP AND BUY! Joining the good ol' Doctor on the mifrophone is Bumpy Knuckles, Astro, Guilty Simpson, Hasaan Mackey, Consequence, and John Tired. The EP also weaves together songs through warm soulful instrumental interludes, something I always had a big thing for this type of projects. Oh and on a related note, Aud Doc just revealed that he's soon finished with "The Spring Tape" and if you've been following this blog you know I went fucking bonkers over those seasoned themed EP:s. You know we're huge fans of The Audible Doctor here at The Lost Tapes so I'm glad to annoucne that the BBS' finest is back with a brand new EP called "Kan't Ceep The People Waiting". If you digt the nostalgic soultastic boom bap of The Good Doctor's previous efforts, I can promise you won't be dssapointed in the eight songs presented here. Especiallly as it features excellent performances by Bumpy Knuckles, Hasaan Mackey, Consequence, Astro, John Robinson, Guilty Simpson, and  lott of good verses from our main emcee. Be sure not to sleep on this, because this one bangs HARD without losing the smooth soul elements. 

The digital release can be purchased for 7 USD via Audible's Bandcamp and you also get the option to test the project out beforehand by previewing the extended play in full. All songs produced by Audible Doctor, with hooks and background vocals on many songs by Davenport Grimes. Feelin' good about this one, for sure - Audible Doctor one of the most underrated producers around, that's my word!

Consequence - "Trust Fund Baby"

It seems cousins Consequence and Q-Tip has patched things up and got down to some new music as the latter provides the production on Cons' latest single "Trust Fund Baby" that will make its way to his "Curb Certified 2" tape. The Abstract still knows how to make a track thump, I'm feeling that bass which comes out just right when the piano layer is added on top; sick! Spotted @ 2DBz.

In related news, Q-Tip has revealed that he's signed a deal with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music imprint and is currently recording his next solo album, "The Last Zulu" which he hopes to put out for the world to hear in 2013. It's great to see such a legendary innovator still being on top of his game. Well deserved.

Lets kick off the day with some morning heat courtesy of Queen's Consequence and a leak from his forthcoming "Movies On Demand 3". Havoc is behind the boards on this one and is clearly doing a good job with the heavy drums and driving synthesizers creating a perfect platform for Cons to open his heart up over. One word - banger!

The next morning banger I got in store for you today is an absolutely crazy track and my personal favorite of the two. The triple threat that is J-Love (emcee/DJ/producer) is not only preparing his upcoming album "S.P.T.A. (Said Person of That Ability)" but will also release three free digital tapes mixed by himself. The first of those tapes hit the net a few days ago titled "The Live Identity". The second installment will be called "The Live Supremacy" and the first leak has just been made available. "A Day in the Life" sees J-Live go in hardbody over the instrumental of Diamond D's 1992 Brand Nubian featured classic of the same name. J-LIVE - "A DAY IN THE LIFE" 

Consequence / Elzhi / Big Pooh

 Consequence seen alot of trials and tribulations in this record industry. He was introduced to the world through his cousin Q-Tip's group A Tribe Called Quest and their fourth album "Beats, Rhymes & Life" where he appeared on no less than six tracks. He wasn't quite the sharp MC you'll hear today but he was far fom wack but Phife Dawg felt Tip was trying to have Cons take his place in the group. As a result, Cons was nowhere to be found on the next, and final, Tribe album and after landing a record deal with Jive which only led to his mid-'90s debut album "Hostile Takeover" was shelved (click the link for a collection of the leaks from that LP).

Since then, the MC has made connections with KanYe West and kept in contact with his cousin, even getting signed to 'Ye's G.O.O.D. Music label, spending 2010 completing his second G.O.O.D. Music album. After feeling neglected by the label and accusing labelmate Pusha T of stealing his lyrics, he cut ties with both Q-Tip and Kanye West. Over the years he's become quite a talented rapper and he's getting ready to take over the independent scene with his mixtape series "Movies On Demand".

Next in line of that is 'Volume III' which will most likely feature several of the songs he recorded while at G.O.O.D. Music and today he let loose of a gem from the project, strictly taking it back to the '90s boom bap. The track is called "Crying Broke" and is produced by The Produce Section. "Movies On Demand III" will be released sooner than you think on Bandcamp Records according to Cons' and I got a feeling this should be something to check for whenver it drops. This track in particular features verses from Elzhi, Rapper Big Pooh and introduces Tannie J. on the hook. Comments?

Consequence, formerly an A Tribe Called Quest affilliate (how come he wasn't in the "Beats, Rhymes & Life" documentary btw?), drops a short but sweet video for his song "Public Eye". On this AllHipHop.com exclusive Cons' goes in over a ill remake of Brand Nubian's classic "One For All" from 1990. The video is directed by Consequence himself with Jack Cearnal.

The track is taken from Cons' forthcoming street album "Movies On Demand III" so be on the lookout for that. It should be out soon.
