[EP] AUDIBLE DOCTOR - "Can't Keep The People Waiting"

If you ask me I'd be quick to say that The Audible Doctor is one of the absolutely most interesting young producers  out right now. He got a sound of his own, without ever letting the hip-hop purists down, which is a feat in itself. And on top of that he's slowly but surely building up a pretty damn impressive catalouge, both as a solo artist and through albums with legends like Onyx's Fredro Starr. With each release he has really grown on the microphone as well and it has been a blessing following his career.

His latest release is called "Can't Keep The People Waiting" and was first released a couple of months ago as a diigital download only. Produced entirely by Audible Doctor, the records which switches betweem agressive synths, knockout drum programming, longing vocal samples and smoother songs which together gives the project a very nice balance, is now finally being rleeased on vinyl. You can purchase the lmited vinyl right now @ Fat Beats, but once they are out they are gone. so HURRY UP AND BUY! Joining the good ol' Doctor on the mifrophone is Bumpy Knuckles, Astro, Guilty Simpson, Hasaan Mackey, Consequence, and John Tired. The EP also weaves together songs through warm soulful instrumental interludes, something I always had a big thing for this type of projects. Oh and on a related note, Aud Doc just revealed that he's soon finished with "The Spring Tape" and if you've been following this blog you know I went fucking bonkers over those seasoned themed EP:s. Stay tuned for more info as it unfolds!

[EP] AUDIBLE DOCTOR - "Can't Keep The People Waiting"

You know we're huge fans of The Audible Doctor here at The Lost Tapes so I'm glad to annoucne that the BBS' finest is back with a brand new EP called "Kan't Ceep The People Waiting". If you digt the nostalgic soultastic boom bap of The Good Doctor's previous efforts, I can promise you won't be dssapointed in the eight songs presented here. Especiallly as it features excellent performances by Bumpy Knuckles, Hasaan Mackey, Consequence, Astro, John Robinson, Guilty Simpson, and  lott of good verses from our main emcee. Be sure not to sleep on this, because this one bangs HARD without losing the smooth soul elements.

The digital release can be purchased for 7 USD via Audible's Bandcamp and you also get the option to test the project out beforehand by previewing the extended play in full. All songs produced by Audible Doctor, with hooks and background vocals on many songs by Davenport Grimes. Feelin' good about this one, for sure - Audible Doctor one of the most underrated producers around, that's my word!

[Album] HASSAAN MACKEY & KEV BROWN - "True Grit"

Damn, I swear there's almost too much sick music coming out right now, it's hard to find time to really dig into it all but this is one of those joints you just don't want to miss. I learned of the existence of a joint album between Kev Brown and Hasaan Mackey only a few days ago, and now we get the whole album stream. I've felt Kev Brown to be one of the more underrated producers around for some time now, and I banged Mackey's album with Apollo Brown "Daily Bread" a lot back in 2011. The record is out now on Ill Adrenaline Records, and as you can hear below it sounds official as hell. The instrumentals are being released on wax as well, nice work as always Ill Adrenaline! Support @ UGHHHHV, iTunes or your retailer of choice.

[Album] ANALOGIC - "The Booth Shall Set You Free"

Considering the love the Elementality crew get up on here it should come as no suprise to anyone that I'm a big fan of one of their main producers Analogic's musical output which includes beats for MadKem, Silent Knight, and many more. Now he's stepping into the limelight as an artist in his own right, releasing "The Booth Shall Set You Free", entirely produced by Analogic and featuring collaborations with Wordsworth, Silent Knight, Sean Boog, Evidence & Rakaa of Dilated, Jered Sanders, Justin Bates, Supastition, Hasaan Mackey, and many more. Definitely worth a listen (or plenty of them) as EMP has put up the entire album for free stream although it's really released on SoulSpazm Records (another label that has proven their capability to find and support great underground hip-hop these last couple of years). It seems it's a strictly digital release though as I can't find any info on a physical release from the usual sites, but you can purchase the project from iTunes. ENJOY!!

[EP] KEV BROWN Presents EARLY REED & J SCIENIDE - "The Dose"

Kev Brown is not only a super talented producer, but he got a real knack for finding and supporting fresh talent. In 2012 Brown's Low Budget Records released the terrific debut LP from Quartermaine, and now comes an equally stunning project from the label in the form of Early Reed's "The Dose (The MFN Files)". A 7 tracks deep journey into the art of well crafted beats, on point rhymes, turntable magic, headnodding and a whole lot of soul that is not to be missed. Entirely produced by Washington/DC veteran Early Reed whose jazzy blend of soul and boom bap is a real treat for the ears with captivating vocals expertly handled by J Scienide this little Extended Play is simply superb on all levels. Guest apperances comes from Kev Brown, Hasaan Mackey, Supastition and DJ Jon Doe. Initially released back in December it is only available as a digital download (for $5) so be sure to support these guys and lets hope for an eventual vinyl release!

[EP] THE AUDIBLE DOCTOR - "The Summer Tape"

Despite consisting of only four songs, there were few releases out this past winter that got me as excited as The Audible Doctor's brilliantly executed "The Winter Tape". With every track the good Doctor managed to catch and construct the vibe of a cold, winter day and/or night and I loved having that EP blazing in my headphones during train rides absorbing the freezing weather outside the window. Now, he's back with the second installment in his Seasons themed EP series, and as it's a strikingly warm summer this will be the perfect addition to your music library for the coming month. As usual there's a bunch of interesting guests joining in on the all produced Audible Doctor sessions; amongst others we are treated to Edo G, Kurious, Guilty Simpson, Oddisee, Hasaan Mackey and more. Just like, or should I say in contrast, with the previous tape I'm amazed me how well he caught the feeling of a nice warm summer day with that one... The project will be released on actual cassette and later this week on iTunes, but for now you can check out the entire project for free.99 below. I can only hope we will get more additions to this series, and even if the Winter/Summer EP:s are released as a double feature on wax you can bet your ass I'm cashing in!

Audible Doctor/ Oddisee/ Hasaan Mackey - "The Vibe"

This beautiful joint is called "The Vibe" and is the first single from Audible Doctor's upcoming EP "The Summer Tape" which drops in full on July 16. The extended play is the second installment in the Good Doctor's "Season Series", following "The Winter Tape" which I praised (and still do) a good deal. I'm hoping there will be more volumes in this series as a I would love to put all the tracks together and listen to it as a Seasons album; however since there were no "Spring Tape" I'm not so sure anymore, but we'll see..

"The Vibe" is, like the rest of the upcoming project, produced by Audible Doctor and features verses from him, Oddisee and Hasaan Mackey. Other guests on "The Summer Tape" will include Guilty Simpson, Kurious, Edo G, Chaundon, Homeboy Sandman, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, and more. Can't wait!

Def Dee Ft. Magestic Legend, Buff1 & Hasaan Mackey - "All It Takes"

Mello Music Group keeps bringing out interesting new artists into the spotlight, something they deserve huge credit for. Latest in line is Seattle producer Def Dee who signed a development deal with the label about a year ago which gave him access to their catalouge and connections with the roster. Dee's first release is now ready for the world; "33 and a Third" is a blend of a full-length LP and a compilation, cleverly created from fresh instrumentals, new songs and remixes with exclusive vocals. The first single to be liberated is called "All It Takes", featuring Hasaan Mackey, Buff1, and Magestic Legend; a fresh new take on the latter's joint of the same name from the album "The Great Escape". You can now pre-order the digital album @ iTunes.

NEW Hassaan Mackey / Apollo Brown

For those who can't get enough of that "Daily Bread", the Detroit MC/Producer duo of Hassaan Mackey and Apollo Brown just dropped this exclusive bonus track for you. From what I gather from the press release I got from Mello Music Group, this song, which is called "Night Time", was in fact recorded after the completion of the album which might mean we'll get another album from these two eventually. I certainly wouldn't mind it! In related news, Apollo Brown is about to hit the road with his group The Left and labelmate Oddisee for an European tour. Check out Mello Music Group for more info and news on these cats.
